Milano took to Instagram, posting a photo of herself in a hospital gown, ready for a procedure. She let the world know in her caption that she was having her breast implants removed. She described the act as "releasing the false narratives" and empowering, as it made her feel authentic and free.

The actress also wrote about how her body has been sexualized and abused in the past. She believed the implants were necessary for her to feel attractive, loved, and successful. Her happiness was also in some way tied to her physical appearance.

Not only was Milano doing this for herself, but also for her daughter Bella, as she hopes Bella would not see beauty through the same lens she did. "I am releasing my daughter Bella from ever feeling those same unhealthy demands," she wrote in the same post.

Milano did not overlook other women who are comfortable with cosmetic procedures in her post. She emphasized freedom, stressing that everyone has the right to choose what is right for them, which may not align with her current choice, but that femininity and peace can be felt on different terms.

The sad incident, as reported by The Daily Mail, took place while they were filming a love-making scene together. The said actor allegedly put his hand under her underwear and attempted to force his fingers inside her.

Milano also sued porn websites in 1998 for posting explicit images of her without her authorization. Some of the photos were reportedly doctored, having her face over other women's bodies, and others were genuine but extracted from movies she was in.

The activist is also a big fan of popular singer and songwriter Beyoncé. The Blast reported that Milano demonstrated her admiration for the singer by deciding her daughter Bella, whom she shares with husband David Bugliari, would be born on the same day as Beyoncé, September 4.

A scheduled C-section gave her the opportunity of this choice, as Bella, who is now seven years old, was born five weeks early. Milano has faced several difficulties with childbirth, but is proud of the scar gotten from the surgery and sees it as a sign of a brave move.

On a podcast in 2019, the actress recounted how she had abortions in her 20s. She described the memories of that time in her life as triggering and that they affected her during labor, postpartum, and when interacting with her children.

Milano had two abortions in the 90s and, while trying to build a family with her husband, suffered two miscarriages. The Blast reported that she viewed the miscarriages as punishment for the abortions and that it took therapy to get over the mentality.
