Now, sources have claimed that Kelce's outburst might have been sparked by off-field drama in his life following his engagement to pop star Taylor Swift last month.

"Things have gone up a level in terms of scrutiny as he plans out the rest of his life with Taylor," one insider said, per Star Magazine.

"And the fear is he's going to buckle under the pressure. He loves to lead by example, but there's more of an edge to him now."

A second NFL insider, who spoke with Rob Shuter for #ShuterScoop, echoed the same sentiments about Kelce.

"He's juggling wedding planning, nonstop scrutiny as Taylor's fiancé, and the Chiefs' shaky start. It's boiling over," they said.

Besides the wedding plans and playing football, Kelce was also said to be weighed down by his "juggling" of multiple commitments in a very tight schedule.

This includes the footballer's podcast "New Heights," which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, who is retired from the NFL.

The podcast typically drops once a week on streaming platforms, and was where Swift recently discussed reclaiming her master recordings and her new album, "The Life of a Showgirl."

In addition, Kelce also has to deal with "brands and endorsements" commitments and "acting aspirations," all of which would likely take up a considerable amount of his time as the wedding draws close.

Due to the situation, insiders are of the opinion that fans may see more outbursts from Kelce in the coming months.

"If this is September, what happens when the wedding march starts?" an insider remarked.

Earlier in the month, Kelce dropped hints about the type of music he and Swift will prefer at their upcoming nuptials.

The Chiefs' tight end shared the details when he was questioned by guest Jimmy Fallon during an episode of his "New Heights" podcast.

"Are you gonna do DJ or band? Are you thinking about all this stuff?" the TV personality had asked the footballer, per The Blast.

In response, the NFL star dismissed the idea of hiring a DJ, saying, "Yeah, I think we're live music kind of people, you know?"

Fallon also brought up Kelce's karaoke and performing skills, which the football star may display at the wedding.

For this, Kelce's brother, Jason, shared that the footballer "always had this in his bag."

"He's been a man of entertainment since the beginning. So this is not surprising," the retired NFL star added.

Kelce's proposal to Swift was announced by the singer on her Instagram page, with the caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

In the multiple pictures she shared, the couple could be seen packing on the PDA, including one where Kelce was down on one knee to pop the question.

Looking back on the engagement, Kelce recently informed his friend Erin Andrews on the NFL on Fox that the moment was deeply emotional for him.

"I'm an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there. But it's been an exciting ride up to this day, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her," he said.

For now, the date of Swift and Kelce's wedding remains unknown as the couple is keeping it under wraps, if they have picked one.
