Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are still living worlds apart since their divorce.
The singer recently spoke about her relationship with her ex-husband, stating that there wasn't much to say because he is off doing his own thing.
Carey and Cannon got married in 2008 and finalized their divorce in 2016, five years after welcoming twins, Monroe and Morrocco, together.
Mariah Carey Avoids Talking About Ex-husband Nick Cannon

Gayle King recently interviewed Carey during a segment for "CBS Mornings." During the discussion, King asked Carey to shed some light on her co-parenting relationship with Cannon, and she avoided going into detail about it.
"I kind of feel like it's best if I don't talk about him, because he can just be in his own world. No offense to him," the singer said.
About two months ago, Carey also spoke about co-parenting her two children with Cannon. She said that her children have a "good time" because they spend an ample amount of time with both parents.
The five-time Grammy Award winner shared that she understands the difficulty of growing up with divorced parents. As such, she tries her best to be fair in her parenting approach.
"How do I say this? They spend time with him, and they have a good time; they spend time with me, and they have a good time… I want to make sure I'm always fair about the situation because it's tough to grow up with divorced parents," Carey said, according to The Blast.
In the past, the 56-year-old singer also said that she was grateful because she and her ex-husband were doing "pretty well in co-parenting" and were able to remain friends after the divorce.
Nick Cannon Says Fathering 12 Children Was As Result Of His Carelessness

Carey's comments come shortly after her ex-husband Cannon opened up about being a father to 12 children. While Carey and Cannon have only two children together, the actor has 10 more children with five other women.
During an episode of "The Breakfast Club" that aired last week, Cannon spoke about how he became a father to 12, saying:
“It wasn't like I was acting out. It was more of being careless, being frivolous with my process because I could do it, because I had the money [and] because I had the access to whoever and however I wanted to move.”
He continued, "Then, obviously, life happens as well, so it wasn't like 'Oh, I'm gonna go have 12 kids.' It was more about like, 'Yo, I'm gonna just live life and have fun and whatever happens happens. I can handle it.'"
According to The Blast, the 44-year-old entertainer admitted that if he could turn back the hands of time, he would think about the "process" more thoroughly and do "the inner work" required to make better decisions.
Nick Cannon's 12 Children Were All 'Made Out Of Love'

Still speaking on being a father to a dozen kids, Cannon acknowledged that he doesn't know if doing the "inner work" would have stopped him from having many children.
However, he emphasized that his children were all products of loving relationships. "I've always said this, every child that I had was made out of love, and there were strong relationships," he said.
The entertainer revealed that he plans to "press hold" on having more kids at the moment. However, he isn't against revisiting the idea sometime in the future.
Nick Cannon Isn't Comfortable With The Term 'Co-Parenting'

Before Nick Cannon opened up about being a father of 12, he expressed brazen dislike for the term "co-parenting," despite having a co-parenting relationship with six women.
As reported by The Blast, the "Wild 'n Out" star believes that the word "co-parenting" can cause further separation between parents, and it should simply be termed "parenting."
He explained that he can manage his blended family by approaching anyone involved in his life with "respect and compassion and individuality."
Cannon also revealed that he doesn't like to group the mother of his children under an umbrella of "baby mamas," but treats each woman as an individual.
Nick Cannon Says He Was Supportive Of Mariah Carey During Their Marriage

Shortly after airing his honest thoughts on the term "co-parenting," Cannon also spoke about what it felt like to be married to Carey.
The comedian stated that he was "very comfortable in supporting" her during their marriage, noting that they both mutually respected and admired each other, according to The Blast.
Cannon said that even when they both had things going on for them, he was happy to either take the backseat or "buck up," depending on what she needed at each point in time.
