The 75-year-old didn't hold back after the late-night host's on-screen return. Taking to his Truth Social platform in the early hours of the morning, he criticized Kimmel's creativity and directly attacked ABC.

"I can't believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back," Trump lamented. He went on to claim that ABC had previously told the White House Kimmel's show was canceled, only to reverse course. He added that Kimmel's audience has “disappeared” and that his “talent” was “never there.”

The politician continued questioning the company’s motives for bringing the comedian back, as he does not contribute to their growth. “Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who's not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE, “Trump asked.

He finished off his rant, hinting at a future legal action against ABC for reinstating the TV personality, while boasting that he had previously sued them and won.

Trump's lawsuit threats followed after Kimmel returned to the screen with an emotional monologue, reflecting on the events that led to his suspension.

Per The Blast, the media personality told the audience that the statements he made were not intended to mock the unfortunate death of the activist. Fighting back tears, Kimmel said, “I want you to understand it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man.”

Soon after, the TV host turned his ire to Trump, claiming that he enjoys seeing him and others lose their job.

Kimmel further alleged that Trump’s agenda against comedians was unconstitutional, saying, “a government threat to silence a comedian the government doesn't like is anti-American."

While Kimmel appeared to bare his emotions about the incident, many conservatives online were not supportive of it and even labeled it fake.

Kirk’s former colleague, Andrew Kolvet, publicly condemned Kimmel's performance, arguing it wasn't enough. According to Kolvet, Kimmel should have expressly acknowledged his mistake about the shooter's political affiliation and issued a direct apology to Kirk's family.

Other critics claimed that Kimmel's remarks lacked genuine accountability, as they opined that he was avoiding responsibility for his words and portraying himself as the victim instead.

Many pledged to boycott ABC for condoning violence by bringing Kimmel back on air.

Trump's suggested lawsuit against the network company is a far cry from his praise for them when the news first broke that Kimmel had been dropped.

It appears that even those who support Kimmel are not spared from criticism from Trump and his aides.

After “The View” hosts shared their thoughts about Kimmel's removal, the communications director for the White House, Steven Cheung, spared no time in blasting them when he was asked about his opinion.

Cheung compared the show with Kimmy’s own program and said the two were “talentless and a collection of irrelevant has-beens and never-beens that nobody with any commonsense [sic] would ever watch unless it was to laugh at them.”
