Roseanne Barr is once again making headlines, this time blasting ABC for what she calls a “double standard” after the network welcomed Jimmy Kimmel back to late-night TV.

Barr, who was fired from her hit sitcom “Roseanne” in 2018 following a controversial tweet, says she lost everything, while Kimmel is being protected and celebrated after his suspension.

Her fiery comments have now reignited a debate about ABC’s choices, free speech, and who gets forgiveness in Hollywood.

Barr did not hold back when asked about Jimmy Kimmel’s reinstatement on ABC.

“I got my whole life ruined, no forgiveness and all of my work stolen and called a racist for time and eternity, for racially misgendering someone,” Barr told NewsNation. “It just shows how they think. It’s a double standard.”

She argued that, unlike her, Kimmel will likely avoid lasting consequences.

“I think he’ll cheer himself on and his fans, all what is it, 2,000 of them. They’ll feel heartened and, you know, like they won another battle against Trump and the people of the United States,” Barr said.

The actress added that it would likely be treated as “a big celebration” and predicted he would “double down.”

How Roseanne Barr’s Show Was Canceled

Back in May 2018, Barr was riding high. Her sitcom “Roseanne” had returned to ABC and quickly became the network’s most-watched program.

However, that success ended overnight when she tweeted that Valerie Jarrett, a former Barack Obama adviser, looked like the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes had a baby.”

The post sparked immediate outrage, with ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey announcing the show’s cancellation within hours.

Barr deleted the tweet and apologized multiple times, writing, “I apologize. I am now leaving Twitter. I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks.”

Still, the damage was done. Her co-stars condemned her remarks, and ABC not only canceled the show but rebranded it as “The Conners,” killing off the 72-year-old’s character.

For Barr, it marked the end of her Hollywood career and the start of her public feud with the network.

Barr Says She Was ‘Erased From History’

While Kimmel gets another chance, Roseanne Barr says she has been permanently erased.

“I’ve been erased from history, from the history of feminism, which that cracks me up,” she explained.

“I’m never mentioned in anything about women who are pioneers in media. I’m never mentioned in anything anymore.”

She added that people whose careers she helped launch no longer acknowledge her, especially when conversations turn to censorship. “That cracks me up,” Barr said, calling the silence deliberate.

The comedian also reminded critics that Kimmel himself once appeared in blackface on “The Man Show,” for which he apologized in 2020.

Despite that, Barr says Hollywood has branded her an outcast while continuing to defend others.

“They protect their lowest rated shows for their shareholders and destroy their highest rated shows for their shareholders,” she argued.

Roseanne Barr pointed to what she saw as a pattern in how ABC handles its stars.

Whoopi Goldberg, for example, was suspended for just two weeks in 2022 after saying the Holocaust was “not about race.”

Kimmel was benched for a few days. But Barr was permanently fired, with her show rebranded and her character killed off.

In a new documentary called “Roseanne Is America,” she even claimed ABC later asked her to return as a ghost, an offer she flatly rejected.

“You’re asking me to come back to the show that you f-cking stole from me and killed my *ss, and now you want me to show up because you got s** fing ratings and play a ghost?” Barr recalled, per the Daily Mail.

Her anger still lingered. “I’m gonna be bowling that f-cking week,” she said, mocking the network’s desperate outreach.

Despite being blacklisted in Hollywood, Barr says she has found support elsewhere.

She praised NewsNation’s parent company, Nexstar, for refusing to air Kimmel’s comeback episode across its ABC affiliates.

The “She-Devil” star said that she loved independent media, explaining that they had broken away from big outlets and decentralized information, which she believed was exactly what America wanted and needed.

Now hosting “The Roseanne Barr” podcast, Barr has leaned into her outsider role, even as her critics continue to call her controversial. Still, she insists the playing field is not fair.

For Barr, the contrast between her permanent cancellation and ABC’s quick forgiveness of others remains proof of what she calls Hollywood’s hypocrisy.
