The issue reportedly arose after a stunt went awry on set, leaving the actor with a cracked head and out for the foreseeable future.

The date for the film's release has previously been pushed back till July 2026, but it's unlikely to get the greenlight following Tom Holland's stunt mishap, with the actor needing time to recover.

Tom Holland was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Friday after a stunt on the set of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" went wrong.

The 29-year-old actor is said to have suffered a cracked head from the fall at Leavesden Studios in Watford, U.K., and was treated for a concussion.

According to reports, an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said that they were "called at 10.30 am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford."

"An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to the hospital for further care," they added.

Holland first starred as the iconic character in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in 2016, before reprising the role in 2019 for "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" in 2021.

Production on the new installment of the "Spider-Man" franchise has been temporarily suspended following Holland's injury.

News emerged earlier this year that the film, which has an estimated budget of $200 million, had been pushed back until July next year.

However, following the incident with Holland, it remains to be seen how the producers will work through a tight deadline, as the actor will be out for several weeks to recover fully. Meanwhile, the fall could lead to an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive.

It comes less than 2 months after he was seen filming for the first time in Glasgow, transforming the Scottish city into downtown New York after it became an alternate and cheaper option compared to the Big Apple itself, per the Daily Mail.

Tom Holland Was Spotted At A Charity Event After The Alleged Accident

The extent of the damages remains unclear, as Holland managed to attend a charity quiz night in London's Mayfair on Saturday and even posed for photos with his fiancée and costar Zendaya.

The charity event was held in support of The Brothers Trust, the charity he runs with his three siblings, Sam, Harry, and Paddy.

His dad, Dominic, was also in attendance at the event and reportedly confirmed his son's health scare, saying he would be away from filming "for a while," per the Daily Mail. He allegedly left early after feeling unwell.

For the night, Holland played quizmaster for the Posh Pub Quiz as the Hollywood star looked dapper in a black suit, which he paired with a crisp white shirt and black bowtie.

Holland and Zendaya are seemingly running a busy schedule as they're also starring in the upcoming Christopher Nolan epic "The Odyssey."

The pair, who have largely kept their romance private, have remained smitten with each other after meeting on the set of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in 2016, where they were cast as the leads and love interests Peter Parker and MJ.

In a previous interview with GQ Magazine, Holland opened up on his desire to keep their relationship out of the public eye, saying that "one of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn't really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world."

The Couple's Engagement Has Been Confirmed

Zendaya told the news outlet that having others get a glimpse at her personal life is both "confusing and invasive."

"The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own," the actress added. "I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other."

The couple sparked engagement rumors earlier this year when the "Euphoria" actress featured a massive diamond ring on her left ring finger as she walked the Golden Globes red carpet. A source later confirmed that they were engaged and that Holland had proposed at one of her family homes between Christmas and New Year's holidays.
