Kate Upton Told See-Through Dress Is A 'Lovely' Swimsuit In High Heels

Kate Upton dressed herself up for a glam night out with husband Justin Verlander in 2016, making headlines for going sheer and for celebrating her birthday. The model, 32, dropped jaws in her see-through look as she partied the night away in NYC, hitting up The Blond at 11 Howard with the man she's since married. Kate, who is best known for her signature Sports Illustrated Swim bikini, ditched the swimwear for a sheer, sparkly column gown and heels, but for one fan, she was basically wearing a swimsuit. In her Instagram share, Kate told fans that she'd "partied" her "pants off," and with a no-pants situation, she wasn't wrong.

The bikini bombshell showed off her curves and 5'10'' frame in a shimmery, gauze number with sparkly black embellishments, adding pops of gold from star prints while wearing a black bodysuit underneath.

With a bandeau design and plunging neckline, though, Kate wasn't leaving much to the imagination. Flashing her massive cleavage via a push-up effect, the blonde also displayed her enviable waistline and legs, wearing strappy black heels that revealed her red pedicure. Street photos showed Kate linking arms with former athlete Justin, who wore a swish blue suit and shirt. Kate even braved a cheeky thong, flashing her backside in rearview snaps.

When a fan on X reposted Kate's birthday look, one fan said that her dress was a "lovely bathing suit."

Kate Upton has made swimwear headlines since, notably in May 2024, when she returned to SI Swim to celebrate the magazine turning 60. Alongside rocking a striped bikini for her cover, Kate slipped her curves into this green bikini, highlighting her full cleavage and killer abs while modeling a two-piece from high-end brand, Agent Provocateur. It's worth bearing in mind that Kate was once body-shamed and told she was too fat for modeling.

Speaking to The Fashion Spot about her self-esteem, Kate Upton revealed:

"I try not to beat myself up because we all have confident days and days where we don’t feel our best. I focus on getting back to that confident place by taking care of myself. I’ve learned that when I motivate myself to eat healthier, work out and recover properly, it helps me sustain a healthy lifestyle to get my confidence level back where it needs to be." Kate also revealed that French fries are her "guilty pleasure."
