Todd Chrisley is getting candid about his strained relationship with his oldest son, Kyle Chrisley, revealing that while Kyle visited him in prison, he's not yet ready to forgive and forget. His stance isn't entirely surprising, however, as his daughter, Savannah Chrisley, recently blasted Kyle on her podcast for being disloyal to the family.
Todd Chrisley Revealed His Oldest Son Visited Him In Prison, But He's Not Ready To Reconcile With Him Just Yet
Todd got extremely vulnerable about his relationship with his oldest son during the most recent episode of the family's comeback reality series, "The Chrisleys: Back to Reality."
Todd told the cameras that his son, Kyle, actually visited him while he was in prison and later apologized to him for his wrongdoings.
And while a tiny part of Todd may have been pleased to see his son, he admitted he wasn't expecting the visit.
"I was in a state of shock," he said. "He hugged me and went to the vending machine and bought me a drink."
Todd explained that the pair talked for a little while before they got into some of the challenging details of their relationship.
“He apologized for his involvement [and] for the things he had done,” Todd said. “And he said, ‘If I could take them back I would but I can’t and I’m asking can we just pick up from here and move forward.’"
But for Todd, it wasn't that easy. "... that wasn’t possible for me," he said.
Todd And Kyle Chrisley Have Gone Back And Forth For Years

As previously reported by The Blast, Todd and Kyle Chrisley have had a tumultuous relationship for years, largely stemming from Kyle's past issues with substance abuse.
Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were granted custody of Kyle's daughter, Chloe, in 2014, and in the heat of the moment, Kyle accused his family of using his daughter for TV ratings and more popularity.
However, Kyle changed his stance years later and made a post on Facebook supporting his family amid their previous legal troubles.
"I haven't been the best dad to Chloe. I've had a problem with drugs; I've acted completely ridiculous, and through all that, they have stood by my side. Nine months ago, I went to my dad with an apology," he said.
Kyle Chrisley Said His Dad Removed Him From His Contact List In Prison

In a previous interview with InTouch, Kyle shared his confusion over why his relationship with his father went downhill, claiming he spoke with Todd several times after he first reported to prison before the communication suddenly stopped.
“I don’t really know why but he hasn’t responded to my emails, and he doesn’t call," he said. “After he went to prison, we would email, and I think I was able to visit him twice. I’m not sure what happened for him to stop contact a year ago ... he actually removed me ... from his approved contact list. I couldn’t tell you what his reasons are."
Savannah Says Her Dad Has A Right To Ignore His Son
Savannah replied to her brother on an episode of her podcast, "Unlocked," torching him and fiercely defending her dad's decision to cut him off.
“My dad has every reason not to speak to Kyle,” she said. “Just because it’s your child doesn’t mean that you have to accept abuse. It doesn't mean you have to accept manipulation and hate and all these things.”
Kyle Hopes To Move Forward With His Family

Despite the ongoing family drama, Kyle remains hopeful for a future reconciliation with his father and siblings. Speaking with E! News, he shared his excitement about his parents' presidential pardon and praised his sister, Savannah, for working tirelessly to bring them home.
"I know Savannah had been working at this for so long and she never gave up," he said. "So I'm just grateful to her and to President Trump for making this happen for my dad and Julie."
"I know they can't wait to get home and just be with family," he went on, "and I'm going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible."
