ABC abruptly pulled "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" from airing following comments made by its host, Jimmy Kimmel, about Charlie Kirk's murder suspect.
On Monday's episode of the hit late-night show, Kimmel said that the "MAGA gang" was trying to score political points off Kirk's assassination, but that seemingly did not go down well with the network's executives, prompting them to axe his show until further notice.
Shortly after the decision was made, Jimmy Kimmel and his sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, were seen exiting the studio looking noticeably saddened.

Kimmel and his longtime sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez were spotted leaving the show's Los Angeles studio shortly after ABC axed the program following the backlash from the late-night host's comments about Charlie Kirk's assassination.
Kimmel was seen brazenly heading into a black Chevy Silverado outside the office complex in L.A. on Wednesday night after he got wind of ABC's decision to yank his program.

In a video footage obtained by NBC 4 Los Angeles, the comedian, dressed in a flannel shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap, held onto his bag as his assistant helped him into the backseat of the waiting vehicle.
Rodriguez couldn't hide his emotions as he appeared beaten while waiting around in the back alley of the studio. Moments after, he was seen leaving the studio, but he kept his windows rolled up, as he was obviously not in the mood to take questions.
The Talk Show Host Said 'MAGA Gang' Is Trying To Score Points With Kirk's Murder

Kimmel was reportedly set to address his comments on Wednesday's episode of the show following the massive backlash that ensued.
"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it," he said during his monologue on Monday.
However, despite planning to set the record straight, Kimmel was not afforded the opportunity to speak about his remarks, as ABC announced that the show would be removed from the network "for the foreseeable future" following his comments, per The Blast.
Sources Slam ABC Move As 'Government Overreaching'

A source close to the situation has since called out the move by ABC, branding it an attack on "free speech."
"This is clearly the government overreaching," the source told the Daily Mail. "There's no such thing as free speech in America if the government can lean on companies to stop any content they don't like."
Despite Kimmel's comments on Kirk's murder suspect holding conservative views, investigators have since said that the 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, held far-left ideologies and was dating his transgender roommate.
Robinson has since been arrested and charged with the crime, which took place during Kirk's speaking engagement at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in Orem last week.
Jimmy Kimmel Is Not Going Down Without A Fight: 'This Is The Last Straw'

Meanwhile, the comedian is reportedly not backing down without a fight as reports suggest he's "pissed" with the network's decision and is looking to sever ties with them.
It appears that Kimmel believes the Donald Trump administration is involved and is looking to join forces with Stephen Colbert to "fight for what they believe in."
"Jimmy is p-ssed over the decision to suspend him and the show, and he isn't going to take this lightly, as he is actively looking for ways to get out of his contract," a source told Daily Mail. "This is the last straw, and Jimmy is now looking to forever break his relationship with ABC forever."
They continued, "Stephen Colbert is already looking to get Jimmy on his show as a guest in the next couple of days or within the week. Now they both are in the same predicament with being against the Trump administration, and they are now looking to do something together to fight for what they believe in."
The source added that the pair "don't want Trump to win in any way or fashion at all, and this has lit an extreme fire under Jimmy's -ss to continue to tell it like it is and be real to himself."
Donald Trump Celebrates Jimmy Kimmel's Misfortune

Like Kimmel, CBS announced in July that Colbert's "The Late Show" would be ending in May 2026, saying it was "purely a financial decision." However, there were already rumors that his show would face the chopping block after CBS settled a lawsuit with President Donald Trump, with the network's parent company, Paramount Global, lined up for acquisition by Skydance Media at the time.
Meanwhile, Trump has commended ABC for axing Kimmel's show off air, urging NBC to do the same with Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" and Seth Meyers' "Late Night."
"Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED," Trump posted on Truth Social.
He added, "Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that's possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it, NBC!!! President DJT."
