Priscilla Presley's Granddaughter Low-Key Welcomes Second Child

Priscilla Presley's granddaughter and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, are now the proud parents of two! 

Riley Keough followed the same tradition as her first child. She secretly welcomed a daughter named Tupelo via surrogate in August 2022.

It remains unclear if Riley Keough welcomed her second child through surrogacy; however, like her first child, she managed to keep the news quiet until she was ready to share. The growth of her family came two years after the finalization of her legal drama with Priscilla Presley.

A representative for Keough confirmed that she had welcomed her second child earlier this year, while speaking to Page Six on Wednesday, September 17. The baby's name and sex were not revealed, but the actress and her beau might share the news soon.

Keough and Smith-Petersen were similarly quiet when they welcomed their first child in 2022; however, they eventually opened up about their daughter's birth via surrogacy. In a 2023 interview, Keough revealed she chose a surrogate because of her battle with Lyme disease.

"I can carry children, but it felt like the best choice for what I had going on physically with the autoimmune stuff," Keough explained in her cover story for Vanity Fair. She also shared that her daughter's unique name, "Tupelo," came from her late grandfather's birthplace in Mississippi.

Keough and Smith-Petersen first met on the set of the 2015 movie "Mad Max: Fury Road." The actress starred as Capable, one of Immortan Joe's five wives, while her husband portrayed the Doof Warrior, Immortan Joe's blind musician.

Things between Keough and Smith-Petersen did not turn romantic until they re-shot the film in Australia. The entertainer confessed that she fell head over heels for the stuntman and knew he would be the father of her children by the second week of dating.

Keough's prediction was spot-on as Smith-Petersen popped the big question in 2014. That same year, they marked their union in a Hindu ceremony in Nepal, where they had been building a school. Keough and Smith-Petersen officially said their vows in Napa Valley, California, on February 4, 2015, per PEOPLE. 

Keough's husband is an Australian-born actor and stuntman. Smith-Petersen's movie credits as a stunt performer include "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "Suicide Squad." As an actor, he's credited for starring alongside his wife in "Spark and Light."

Smith-Petersen had a cameo in Keough's movie, "Daisy Jones & the Six," for an intimate scene. His wife opened up about the cameo in a March 2023 appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," noting producers thought it would be less uncomfortable if she performed with her husband.

Contrary to their expectations, Keough noted the sex scene with Smith-Petersen was awkward because they had never pretended to be intimate and would burst out laughing at random moments. When he wasn't acting or performing stunts, Smith-Petersen practiced Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Keough's second child was born two years after the finalization of her legal drama with her grandmother. Following the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, Priscilla filed a petition contesting the "authenticity and validity" of a 2016 amendment of the deceased's will.

Lisa Marie had removed Priscilla and her former business manager as co-trustees and transferred all power to her children. After clashing in court, the pair resolved their issues through a settlement in May 2023, four months after Lisa Marie's tragic death.

Following the settlement, Priscilla denied that the legal battle had ruined her relationship with her granddaughter. She stressed that there was no bad blood between them, saying, "We were never not on good terms. That was all publicity."

Months after Priscilla declared her relationship with Keough remained strong, The Blast shared that she and her granddaughter made their first public appearance since the settlement. They stepped out for dinner at Nobu in October 2023, with Lisa Marie's other daughters.

The late Elvis Presley's heir welcomed twin daughters, Harper and Finley Lockwood, with her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood. Her first daughter was born during her union to musician Danny Keough, alongside her son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in July 2020.

Sources noted the family enjoyed sushi at the famous Malibu restaurant, with Presley reportedly footing the bill. The sighting marked the end of the drama over Elvis's iconic Graceland Estate and Lisa Marie's Trust.
