Beyoncé's Unreleased Music Stolen In Atlanta Is Closer To Recovery As Suspect Is Arrested

The mystery behind the unfortunate theft of Beyoncé’s unreleased music may soon be uncovered. 

A car related to the theft has been tracked down, and a suspect who matched descriptions related to the car from the crime scene has been arrested. 

The singer’s unreleased songs and confidential tour materials were reported stolen on July 8 when a distress call was placed to the police, detailing the unfortunate incident.

One Suspect Is In Custody Regarding The Theft Of Beyoncé’s Hard Drives

Beyoncé was on tour when she became the victim of what appeared to be a well-planned, targeted theft.

Her valuables were reportedly stolen from a car rented by her choreographer, Christopher Grant, in an unfortunate incident that took place just days before her "Cowboy Carter" tour stop in Atlanta. 

CNN has now confirmed that two months after the theft, Atlanta-area police officers have arrested Kelvin Evans. 

The arrest was made based on suspicions that he broke into the SUV containing Beyoncé’s hard drives and made away with other stolen items. 

The hard drives also contained a set list for the tour, footage plans, and watermarked music. Other items reported stolen also include a pair of designer sunglasses, suitcases, laptops, and AirPods Max headphones.

How The Police Traced The Suspect Linked To The Theft Of Beyoncé’s Unreleased Music

According to a police report obtained by People Magazine, officers traced Evans through a series of digital clues that led them to the vehicle used during the theft. 

They dug through parking garage cameras, tracing the vehicle the suspect used, which was a 2025 Hyundai Electra. 

When officers called on the owner of the vehicle, she revealed that she had rented out the car to her mother and then to her uncle, who was later identified as Evans. 

According to the report, the suspect allegedly borrowed the vehicle on the pretense of using it for just five minutes to go to a friend’s house. However, he was gone for 30 minutes.

While the investigation is still underway, Evans is facing charges related to entering an automobile with the intent to steal. He is being held at the Fulton County Jail on a $20,000 bond. 

Per the records, the suspect also has a history of crime, with records that date as far back as 2002.

Beyoncé’s Hard Drive Was Stolen Around 8 p.m.

In July, The Blast published a report about the theft, stating that it occurred around 8 p.m. 

The incident took place while Grant and one of Beyoncé's dancers, Diandre Blue, were visiting Krog Street Market. When they returned, they discovered that the back window of the car had been smashed and their valuables were gone. 

The report further stated that the AirPods that were stolen in the heist were traced to an undisclosed location in Atlanta. 

A police officer investigating the theft said, “I conducted a suspicious stop in the area, due to the information that was relayed to me. There were several cars in the area, also that the AirPods were pinging to that area also.”

Police Released 911 Call Reporting The Theft Of Beyoncé's Hard Drives

As reported by The Blast, law enforcement officers released the distress call that was placed to the police, revealing the details of the incident: 

Caller: Hi. Yes, I am at 99 Krog Street.

Dispatch: Do you need police, fire, or an ambulance?

Caller: It's ... someone broke into my car.

Dispatch: Ok, are you parked at a business?

Caller: No, I was parked in a garage while I went to a restaurant, but they stole like my computer [which] has a tracker on it.

Dispatch: Ok, what parking lot? What level are you on?

Caller: The main level.

Dispatch: Ok, what kind of car do you have?

Caller: It's a rental. It's a Wagoneer.

The caller later informed the dispatch that "Find My" showed the devices moving before explaining the severity of the case.

"It's really, really important information in there. Like I work with someone who is like of a high status, and I really need my computer," he said.

Reports of an arrest of the victim linked to the theft of Beyoncé’s hard drives came shortly after the singer was harshly criticized for being seen with Ivanka Trump

Beyoncé and Jay-Z were seen out and about with Ivanka and Jared Kushner during a charity-related Casino Night & Gala in Atlantic City.

The foursome was photographed seated on the same table during the event, and the picture sparked some buzz online. Fans accused the Grammy Award winner and her husband of being MAGA supporters and dining with “fascists.” 

“Instead of releasing videos… She dines with fascists… Got it,” one fan wrote.
