Seyfried is no stranger to facing backlash from fans over her comments.

In July, during an episode of Variety's "Actors On Actors,” the “Mean Girls” actress spoke about Harvey Weinstein, the film producer who was convicted of sexual crimes.

Seyfried said that she had heard rumors about Weinstein’s misconduct, but wasn't aware of how bad they were.

She also joked and laughed about giving Weinstein the “biggest hug” when she met him at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival because she was starstruck by him. She went ahead to reenact the hug with Adam Brody, who also laughed at the story.

However, fans were quick to attack Seyfried, saying that she was trivializing the issue of Weinstein’s sexual misconduct by laughing when recalling her encounter with him.
