On Monday, the superstar gave Instagram followers a first look at her transformation into Aurora for Bill Condon's upcoming musical thriller "Kiss of the Spider Woman."
In the photos, Lopez sported a platinum blond wig styled in a voluminous ponytail topped with a pastel pink headband. Her vintage-inspired glam featured striking red lips, matching nails, and soft neutral tones of blush and shadow.
Wearing a silky pink robe, the 56-year-old posed in front of a mirror, teasing what appeared to be preparations for a bathtub scene. Another photo captured Lopez reclining in the tub while admiring costume sketches.
"Stepping into the role of Aurora felt like dancing through the golden age of cinema … with all the glitz, glamour, and a whole lot of dancing," Lopez captioned the post. "Stepping back into time has never been so much fun."

Speaking at a post-screening Q&A with Variety, Lopez opened up about finally stepping into her long-awaited dream role in the new movie musical "Kiss of the Spider Woman."
The Grammy-winning artist shared that her passion for musicals began as a child growing up in the Bronx, when she first saw "West Side Story" on TV.
She revealed she had chased that dream before, auditioning for "Chicago and Nine," and was even attached to NBC's planned live version of "Bye Bye Birdie" in 2016 — a project that was ultimately shelved.
Lopez even recalled her bid to star in Alan Parker's 1996 adaptation of "Evita."
"I went to audition for 'Evita' for [director] Alan Parker," she said. "I had been practicing for weeks, and I sang my heart out, and he goes, 'You're amazing. You know Madonna has the part, right?'"

Now, under the direction of Condon, Lopez stars alongside Tonatiuh and Diego Luna in the big-screen adaptation.
The singer-actress recalled being stunned when Condon explained that the film's elaborate musical numbers would be shot in a single take.
"I was like, 'We'll do some coverage?" she recalled. "He was like, 'Nope, no coverage.' I was like, 'F-ck me! I'd better get it right then.' Like halfway through the take, it's going perfectly, and then you trip on your dress or whatever, so it's like, maybe we start over. It was challenging."
The Singer Says She's Living Her 'Childhood Dream'

Still speaking about the challenges of the roles, Lopez shared how the "constraints" she faced made playing the part even more rewarding for her.
"It was challenging in that way, time-wise, as independent films can be, right? It's the time, it's the prep, it's the, you know, budget. All of it was constraints for us," she said.
Lopez continued, "But we put our heart and soul into it and we rehearsed like crazy for the time that we had, and it was a beautiful thing, and again, I'm living my childhood dreams."
