The American actress and film producer recently shed tears over the political activist's gruesome death, saying that his assassination has been heavy on her mind.
Despite her raw display of emotions, Curtis is catching the heat from fans who believe that her sympathy is "out of touch" and misplaced.
Jamie Lee Curtis Found Charlie Kirk's Ideas 'Abhorrent'

Jamie Lee Curtis was featured on the most recent episode of "WTF With Marc Maron." During the discussion, she spoke about Charlie Kirk's assassination, noting that although she didn't agree with his principles, his death was tragic.
"I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith," she said.
The 66-year-old actress got so emotional that she began to cry. Sniffing through tears, she called Kirk a "man of faith" and hoped that his faith served as a source of comfort for him in his final moments.
"Even though I find what he—his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he's a father and a husband and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it," Curtis added.
Kirk was shot and killed during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. He spent his last moments discussing and debating with college students while on his American Comeback Tour.
The Academy Award winner expressed concern over the long-term effects of seeing Kirk's execution. She noted that people are now "numb" to it and don't seem to understand how the footage will "psychologically" affect them.
While she can't stop the footage from being circulated, Curtis said that she is not interested in watching it. "I don't ever want to see this footage of this man being shot," she said.
Fans Slam Jamie Lee Curtis For Crying Over Charlie Kirk's Death

Fans online rained down the heat on Curtis for her show of emotion. One dismissed the two-time Golden Globe award winner's emotions, writing, "This woman is always on the wrong side of history. Always lame & annoying."
One sarcastic comment read, "Everyone wants to be emotional lol," while another fan added, "Her talent for inserting herself in topics that don't even concern her is astonishing."
Other fans noted that Curtis' child, who is trans, would surely feel hurt seeing her defend Kirk, who was publicly anti-trans.
"Jamie has a trans child, I wonder how they feel about their months celebrating the transphobic Charlie Kirk," one fan noted.
An enraged fan wrote that the film producer was once again spewing "toxic bullsh-t and sympathizing with Nazis." The fan also added that they were not surprised by the "Freaky Friday" actress's actions, noting that she's "likely" to behave that way.
Tamera Mowry Recently Came Under Fire For Condemning Charlie Kirk's Death

Curtis is not the only high-profile figure who has been criticized for speaking up about Kirk's murder.
American actress Tamera Mowry recently shared a post on her Instagram story, writing that those who celebrated Kirk's death were "demonic."
However, she received backlash for sharing the post. One fan fired back at her, writing that they were not celebrating the late activist's death but didn't "give a f-ck."
Another fan noted that since the "Turning Point USA" co-founder didn't believe in empathy, he didn't deserve to be empathized with.
"He said that he hated empathy, so why should we have any on him?" The fan wrote, as reported by The Blast.
Chris Martin Also Received Backlash For Sending A Tribute To Charlie Kirk

Coldplay's Chris Martin also joins the long line of celebrities who have received backlash for empathizing with Kirk's demise.
Following Kirk's tragic end, Martin dedicated an emotional song to the deceased's family during a concert at Wembley Stadium.
However, the well-meaning act quickly caused outrage from Coldplay fans online. One fan condemned Martin for treating his concert as a "political platform," and another vowed to stop being a Coldplay fan from then on.
On the other hand, other fans applauded Martin's message of peace, writing that there was "nothing wrong" with dedicating a song to the late Kirk's family.
Justin Bieber Has Remained Silent On Charlie Kirk's Murder

While celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Tamera Mowry have publicly condemned Kirk's shooting, Justin Bieber has remained silent.
As reported by The Blast, Bieber was called out by fans for not speaking out on the incident.
The singer had shared a post on Instagram encouraging his followers to value physical wellness and respect human dignity. However, his fans were quick to point out that he never directly addressed Kirk's assassination.
One comment read, "Christian? Yeah? I don't think so. Don't be afraid to speak up in support of Charlie."
