A College Student Was Arrested After Seemingly Mocking The Death Of Charlie Kirk During A Campus Demonstration

According to multiple sources, including Fox 4, Camryn Giselle Booker was arrested and charged with assault after things got heated between her and other individuals who were participating in a vigil for Kirk.

Booker was booked into the Lubbock County Jail and given a bond of $200, which she has since posted.

In one video shared on X, formerly Twitter, Booker was seen jumping up and down while screaming vulgar statements about Kirk.

"F-ck your homie dead ... he got shot in the neck," she chanted repeatedly.

In another clip on TikTok, Booker was arguing with another set of students over slavery. During a later part of the clip, Booker hit a demonstrator's hat, shifting it on his head ever so slightly.

Booker Is Slammed On Social Media

Booker won't be pleased with the public's reaction to her viral moment, though, with many blasting her for displaying insensitive and disrespectful behavior. "If it's true that she assaulted someone, then nah. Our people gotta start being smarter," a user wrote. "We know what consequences come with certain actions, why take it that far and hit?"

Another user commented and echoed a similar sentiment, calling "taunting" downright wrong. "He told her multiple times to leave him alone, and she and her minions wouldn't. This man has patience and massive restraint!" they finished.

However, the comments weren't all bad. Some posters pointed to Kirk's previous statements on the Second Amendment and also questioned why some were being punished for practicing free speech.

"Arrested for what? Man, the right is really wanting people to be fired or expelled for expressing the very thing Charlie was killed for. I don't agree she should be celebrating, it's honestly disgusting, but it's her right," someone shared.

Charlie Kirk Commented On Guns

According to a previous report from The Blast, Kirk had been very vocal about guns and the Second Amendment. During an earlier speaking event, the right-wing activist sparked outrage after saying deaths were "worth" the cost of having firearms.

"I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe," he said.

"Having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty," he continued. "Driving comes with a price—50,000, 50,000, 50,000 people die on the road every year. That's a price. You get rid of driving, you'd have 50,000 less auto fatalities. But we have decided that the benefit of driving—speed, accessibility, mobility, having products, services is worth the cost of 50,000 people dying on the road."

A Texas Tech spokesperson confirmed to Fox 4 that Booker had been expelled from the university following her arrest, later calling her behavior "reprehensible."

"Any behavior that denigrates victims of violence is reprehensible, has no place on our campus, and is not aligned with our values. Federal law prevents Texas Tech University from commenting on individual student conduct matters. We take all reported violations seriously and address them under university policy and the law," the university said.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott also broke his silence on the matter on X, saying Booker "picked the wrong school to taunt the death of Charlie Kirk."

"Thanks, Texas Tech," he ended.

And Abbott isn't the only public figure condemning the alleged "celebrations" of Kirk's murder. Actors and political figures have made their voices heard, too.

As reported by The Blast, "Sister, Sister" actress Tamera Mowry slammed those she claimed to see celebrating Kirk's death in a post to her Instagram Stories, calling them "demonic."

And she wasn't alone. "Clueless" star Stacey Dash shared a similar message, calling on the public to show compassion during such a horrific time, while also hoping for unity.

"What's wrong with you? That you can celebrate someone's death. You don't like hearing the truth, so you celebrate their death?" she said. "What is going on? I'll tell you what, that is the state of our country and our world. The devil is dancing right now, and you're celebrating right along with him. So God help you."
