Sydney Sweeney In Braless Blazer Is Still Showing Off Her 'Good Jeans'

Actress Sydney Sweeney is still causing debate over her "good jeans" ad campaign for American Eagle. Although the brand has insisted that the jeans are just referring to her denim pants and nothing more nefarious, others have claimed that the brand is subtly promoting eugenics by casting a blonde haired, blue eyed model. Everyone from Lizzo to U.S. President Donald Trump has weighed in on the "Euphoria" star's jeans, making it one of the most viral moments of the year.

For a jeans campaign, the American Eagle ad spent a lot of time focusing on the actress's chest, where she can be seen posing braless underneath the brand's denim jacket. In other ads, she slips the jacket off one shoulder, making it absolutely clear that she isn't wearing anything underneath the rough denim. In this fifteen-second ad, Sweeney says, “My body’s composition is determined by my genes,” while the camera zooms in on her chest. She then says, “Hey! Eyes up here,” and smiles at the camera as it zooms in on her face.

Fans were quick to criticize the ad in the comments. “She just can’t stop pandering to the male gaze. That's why no one takes her seriously as an actress,” one user wrote. The comment, which got over 6,000 likes, also got many comments. Although some agreed, others defended the actress, with one writing, “That's on you lol. When I watch a movie she's in, I treat it like every other movie. You're the one who clearly doesn't take her seriously.”

Another comment on the ad jokingly read, “Sydney, stop using your body for views challenge.” One person told them to stop “slut shaming” while another user asked, “She got THE body, why would she? It's not for everyone, so cry about the body you'll never have.”

“To be honest, nobody cares about American Eagle. It's the same Sweeney craze when she doesn't wear clothes,” another follower shared. Yet another comment read, “She’ll never be able to complain about being over-sexualized when she does it to herself.”

As The Blastpreviously reported, the actress was missing at several Emmys after parties, despite presenting an award in a strapless red dress that put the focus on her large chest. TMZ claimed that the actress did not attend any parties due to a filming commitment early the next day, but others have speculated that her new political party affiliation might be hurting her career.

“I hate Hollywood.  They ignored Sydney Sweeney because she’s a Republican.  They also had speeches that ended with 'Free Palestine.' Award shows are propaganda that I haven’t watched in decades,” one user wrote on X, claiming that her career might take a hit due to her political stance.

Around the time that Donald Trump weighed in on the American Eagle ad, reports emerged that the actress is registered as a Republican in her home state of Florida. However, she has never spoken about politics.
