The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards was a day of celebration for most, but not Harrison Ford's fans.
The Hollywood veteran is undoubtedly one of the most renowned actors and is frequently hailed as a cinematic cultural icon. Despite his decades-long career, he received his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at 83.
Many believed he would bag the award come Sunday, September 14; however, the honor went to actor Jeff Hiller for his role in "Somebody Somewhere." The news left many feeling bitter, prompting Harrison Ford to react with a bold move.

The 2025 Emmys snubbed many of Hollywood's veteran entertainers, including Ford, Angela Bassett, and Cate Blanchett. While Bassett did not score a nomination despite her phenomenal performances, Ford and Blanchett lost the categories they were nominated for.
Blanchett received a nod for Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie thanks to her performance in "Disclaimer," but lost to actress Cristin Milioti for "The Penguin." In Ford's case, he appeared excited for his first-ever Emmy nomination and attended the event with his wife, Calista Flockhart.
Ford was nominated for his performance as Dr. Paul Rhoades in the series "Shrinking," but lost the Emmy. Showbiz411 reported that Ford and his partner left the event shortly after his defeat, a reaction that made his fans more upset about his loss.
Fans Are Heartbroken By The Hollywood Veteran's Loss

Fans' reactions to Ford's Emmy loss flooded X, with someone claiming the incident was "potentially the worst thing that's happened all week." Another agreed, writing, "I will remember this day as the day the Emmys f-cked up and robbed Harrison Ford."
The heartbroken sentiments continued, with a third confused by Ford's loss. They stressed that his Apple TV+ series might not be popular; however, his performance deserved to be recognized.
A fan echoed similar sentiments, noting Ford "delivered one of the most breathtaking and hilarious performances of the decade."
An X user was in disbelief, explaining that it was unfair for Ford to continue wowing audiences with his performance without getting awarded for it. A fellow supporter stated that Ford was an accomplished actor, but he was still "robbed" of his rightful Emmy.

The third season of the Apple TV+ series wrapped up in July, with the streaming platform confirming the news on Instagram. They shared a video of Ford celebrating the show's staff and crew, whom he hailed as the "very, very best" at what they do and how they do it.
Ford claimed that how they made people feel was "f-cking amazing," declaring he loved working with them and hoped they would be back for another season. He also got into a playful banter with his co-star Jason Segel, who echoed his agreement before Ford rudely cut him off.
The wrap-up announcement came days after Ford celebrated his first Emmy nomination at 83. Deadline reported that he was supposed to score the nomination in 2024 for the show's debut season, but he lost to other actors like "The Bear's" Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who ended up winning.

Ford portrays Dr. Paul Rhoades, a renowned psychotherapist with an ego that sometimes makes him appear arrogant. Nonetheless, his love and respect for his patients and the people he loves are evident in his words and actions.
Rhoades loves his boundaries and describes his home as his "fortress of solitude." He serves as the mentor of Segel's character, Jimmy, and they frequently butt heads due to Ford's character's somewhat grumpy persona.
The character also battles Parkinson's disease, a condition the series' co-creators, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, have a personal history with. Both of their fathers were diagnosed with the progressive illness.
Additionally, Lawrence claimed his "mentor" Michael J. Fox inspired the portrayal of Parkinson's in the show.
Harrison Ford Received A Police Escort During The Pacific Palisades Wildfires

Ford's Emmy loss comes months after the Pacific Palisades wildfires. Earlier this year, The Blast reported that the flames ravaged through the L.A. area, causing significant destruction for many, including celebrities.
A-listers like "When Harry Met Sally" comedian Billy Crystal and the "Silence of the Lambs" star Anthony Hopkins lost their homes. Ford was forced to evacuate, with the paparazzi capturing him looking distressed in his Brentwood neighborhood.
At one point, Ford was captured getting into a personal escort from the LAPD to check on the fate of his Brentwood estate as more houses burned down. He reportedly purchased the property in 2011 for $12.6 million.
