Rapper Ice Spice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, is an American rapper and songwriter. She’s become a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene after getting her start in 2020, after a meeting with record producer RiotUSA while she was still in college. She later got her start on TikTok when her song “Munch (Feeling U)” went viral. That song helped her get a record deal with 10K Projects and Capitol Records.

Ice Spice Is A Hip-Hop Sensation

Scroll for the photo. Since her debut, she has become known for her “Bronx drill” musical style, which she has described as “super simple” and a more “digestible” style of rap. She’s worked with some of the biggest artists in the world, including Nicki Minaj on “Barbie World” for the “Barbie” soundtrack.

She also worked with Taylor Swift on a remix of “Karma.” She’s received plenty of awards from her work, including the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and four Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist. She released her debut EP, Like..?, in 2023, and her first studio album, Y2K!, was released in July 2024.

Ice Spice Raps About Her Newfound Fame In ‘Bikini Bottom’

No, the rapper isn’t talking about her own bikini bottoms! Although she showed off her midriff while promoting her single, the song isn’t about her swimwear. Instead, it focuses on her newfound fame, partying, and her new taste for fashion.

“I can hear you hatin’ from the back / Balenciaga baddie, got a bag,” she raps in the first verse, going on to sing, “Breakin’ records and I’m breakin’ news / B-tches be pressed, like, ‘Who you?’” Fans loved her look for this song promotion, writing, “This face” next to a heart-eye emoji and “Face card valid.”

Working With Taylor Swift

In a Nylon cover story published earlier this month, the rapper had nothing but positive things to say about her collaboration with Taylor Swift.

“The thing about Taylor is that she keeps it so real,” she said. “Not even kidding, but one of the biggest things that I always think about that Taylor said is ‘As long as you keep making music, everything’s going to be fine.'”

Taylor Swift Helps Her With 'Writer's Block'

She also revealed that the pair doesn’t just talk about the entertainment industry when they are together. “We’re talking about the food we’re eating or whatever’s going on in the moment,” she continued.

However, she went on to say, “Whenever I’m feeling doubtful or not as confident, having writer’s block, no matter what it is, things like that really, really stand out to me. She said that to me a few years ago, and it still stood with me.”
