New details about Charlie Kirk's death continue to pour in, with his Turning Point USA team revealing he faced numerous death threats. 

The famous conservative commentator took his final breath on Wednesday, September 10, after he was fatally shot in the neck. The horrific incident occurred at Utah Valley University, the first stop on his American Comeback Tour.

Charlie Kirk has received multiple tributes from fans, celebrities, and politicians, who mourned his loss and celebrated the legacy he left. However, his controversial stance on sensitive subjects did not win the hearts of everyone.

"Charlie was no stranger to threats. He received thousands throughout his life. But he always prioritized reaching as many young Americans as possible over his own personal safety," the team revealed. They labeled Kirk "America's greatest martyr to the freedom of speech he so adored."

The message continued with a loving description of Kirk and his achievements, claiming he founded Turning Point USA out of his parents' garage at 18 without money or recognition. The team added that he prioritized "good-faith debate" to guide people towards the truth.

Fans Had Mixed Reactions To The Tribute

The lengthy message from Kirk's team hailed him as a man who "loved America, its people, its Constitution, its freedom, and the limitless good all of them have done for the world." They noted he loved God and always preached the gospel, even in his final moments.

The post celebrating Kirk generated mixed reactions, with fans and critics clashing. A TikTok user confessed that they "absolutely hated him as a person;" however, his tragic death broke their hearts. "He was just a man with an opinion," they lamented.

Another echoed similar sentiments, noting Kirk "died for what he believed in." A supporter bashed critics celebrating his tragic demise, reminding them that he was more than his conservative beliefs. "He was a father. A husband. A human being. Nobody deserves this," the fan stressed.

Some Critics Sympathized With The Right-Wing Political Activist

Many did not sympathize with Kirk's death, citing his stance on sensitive subjects like gun violence. They implied his beliefs earned him bad karma, with someone quoting, "Some gun deaths are worth it – Charlie Kirk." Another echoed similar sentiments, writing:

"Lol, still don't care, he hated empathy. I won't be able to feel empathy for him." 

However, not everyone was against him despite their hatred. Some critics sympathized with Kirk's death, declaring that no one deserved to die the way he did, regardless of their beliefs. "Although he was a bad person, he still had a wife and innocent kids," a TikToker lamented.

"Violence isn't the answer, even if he was a bad person," a fellow critic penned. More people agreed, advising others to stop mocking his death and sympathize with Kirk's grieving wife and children.

"I've never liked his opinions, but no one should ever deserve to die because of political opinion," someone added.

The Conservative Commentator Had No Fear About His Safety

According to new reports, Kirk showed no indication of safety concerns and was excited to be back on the road for his campus tour. Sources told TMZ that he spoke at length with a longtime pal over the phone a day before his death.

They claimed Kirk raved about his upcoming Turning Point USA events and speaking opportunities, telling his friend he was looking forward to his comeback tour. Sources noted he voiced zero concerns about his safety and never indicated he was getting death threats.

Kirk did not believe he was in danger and travelled with a small security detail tasked with escorting him from place to place rather than looking out for potential dangers. The right-wing activist died from a gunshot wound to the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University.

Authorities Have Released Footage Of Charlie Kirk's Shooting Suspect

The FBI made a significant breakthrough in Kirk's case with the discovery of footage capturing the shooting suspect. They recently released the video, showing what appeared to be a man escaping from the crime scene.

The suspect, decked in a "distinctive" black t-shirt with an American flag and eagle, Converse shoes, and sunglasses, was captured running across the roof of the building where the shot was fired. He climbed down the side of the building before escaping on foot.

According to the BBC, Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason released "enhanced" photographs of the suspect, claiming public tips gave them their "next leads."

Utah Governor Spencer Cox added that the FBI has received more than 7,000 tips, the largest number since the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
