The shocking assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has shaken the nation, leaving behind grief, outrage, and bitter divides online. Among the many voices responding was social media star and model Camilla Araujo, who went viral after posting an emotional plea condemning not only the violence itself but also the disturbing reactions celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death.
Camilla Araujo In Tears Over Charlie Kirk Assassination
In her tearful video, Araujo fought to hold back sobs as she reflected on both the tragedy and the internet’s callous response. “Regardless of your political beliefs or anything that you believe in, I just want you to know that one day those children will grow up and see the way that their father was brutally murdered,” she said, her voice breaking.
“Maybe they’re too young to know or to have seen what really happened," she continued. "But they sense their mom’s pain, and you see the videos that people are putting up rejoicing in the death of their father.”
Visibly shaken, Araujo didn’t mask her disgust. “That is f-cking disgusting, really, I’m floored,” she said. “To see how some people are celebrating the death of a human life, because at the end of the day, politics just divides people. This man was a husband and a father of two children. One of them was so young they didn’t even get to see what it feels like to be loved by your father.”
The influencer ended her message by sending prayers to Kirk’s family and urging her followers to remember that political disagreements should never strip someone of their humanity.
Kirk Assassinated During Public Event In Utah

Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of President Donald Trump, was gunned down on Wednesday during a public Q&A session at Utah Valley University. Authorities described the incident as a politically motivated assassination.
Kirk, who had built his reputation as a controversial but influential figure in conservative youth politics, was known for sparking heated debates across the political spectrum. His sudden death sent shockwaves through both supporters and critics, amplifying an already polarized political climate.
Leaders React To Kirk’s Death

The assassination of Kirk prompted swift and emotional responses from leaders across the political spectrum.
U.S. President Donald Trump, a longtime ally of the conservative activist, released a statement calling Kirk “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk,” adding, “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Vice President JD Vance kept his tribute brief but solemn, writing simply, “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.”
From across the aisle, former Democratic President Joe Biden condemned the act of violence outright: “There is no place in our country for this kind of violence. It must end now. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones.”
Former President Barack Obama also weighed in, striking a similar tone. “We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy," he shared.
FBI Recovers Rifle Believed To Be Used In Shooting

Investigators revealed Thursday that they have recovered what they believe to be the weapon used in the assassination of Kirk. According to Salt Lake City FBI Special Agent Robert Bohls, the firearm, described as a high-powered bolt-action rifle, was found wrapped in a towel in a wooded area close to the university where the shooting occurred.
Law enforcement sources told ABC News the weapon was identified as an older imported Mauser .30-06 rifle. The discovery site reportedly aligns with the suspect’s suspected route of escape.
Officials also disclosed that a spent cartridge remained chambered inside the rifle, along with three unfired rounds. Disturbingly, the unspent ammunition was marked with phrases investigators said contained references to both transgender and anti-fascist themes. Authorities cautioned, however, that the meaning remains unclear and could even be an attempt to mislead the investigation.
The rifle has been sent for further analysis.
