Taylor Frankie Paul Sets Record Straight On Guitar Guy Rumored To Be Her New Boyfriend

After dropping the big news that she will be the next "Bachelorette," Taylor Frankie Paul addressed the rumors swirling around on social media that she has a new man in her life.

During her appearance on "Call Her Daddy" podcast, "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star spilled the tea on the speculation that she was dating a musician and explained that it might have appeared that way on purpose. She also talked about her new role on "The Bachelorette" and how that came to be.

While chatting with podcast host Alex Cooper during a recent episode of "Call Her Daddy," Paul shared some insight into the "man with the guitar" everyone assumed was her new boyfriend.

"We need to talk about some pictures you recently posted of a man with a guitar. The internet was absolutely freaking out when you kind of, they thought, soft launch this relationship with this man. What is going on, Taylor," Cooper asked.

Paul responded, "Okay, so here's the thing. It's me. I do curveballs all the freaking time. It wasn't a soft launch, whatever. I met the guy twice and so it was funny."

When asked if ABC thought maybe it was "code red" since Paul just signed on to do "The Bachelorette," Paul explained that they did reach out to ask.

"I was like guys, it's okay, I do this all the time," Paul said. "I like to confuse people. It's fun and it's entertaining. So I guess I didn't think that one too much through. And then I said I can understand how this looks, but to be honest, I'm gonna be honest, I met him twice, likeable guy, he's great. Are we official? Nope, I don't know the guy. I don't know him."

During the podcast episode, Paul spilled the tea about being the next "Bachelorette." When Cooper asked how she was feeling about that news, Paul said, "surreal."

"Right now in this moment, I'm thinking about it, and it's not real," she said. "It's not gonna be until the limo's pulling up. So, nervous. In my head I'm like, 'how is this happening?' That's my answer."

"The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star explained her "perspective" on how she was chosen to do the show. She said people told her she should go on the show, and she explained that she made a TikTok a while back manifesting this moment.

"I used to see little side comments, so I made a funny video, and this was actually three years prior I made the same video," she explained. "People started tagging 'The Bachelorette.' I don't know if that got their attention or someone was like maybe. It was mostly a joke to me, unattainable."

Paul also explained that when the offer came to her, she had a bit of a hesitation because she's got children and two baby daddies. She then realized that if she asks for more help, she can make this work as a single mom.

"You can do anything you want, if you want," she said. "It comes down to that. I was like, I will make it work."

Of course, the question on many minds is about Dakota Mortensen, Paul's second baby daddy and most recent ex boyfriend.

Cooper asked if Mortensen knows about her signing onto the show and she said, "I have not confirmed it with him. So I don't know if he knows or if he knew I had the opportunity. So he'll know Wednesday."

Paul said she thinks that Mortensen will be "sad" about her going on the show to find new love.

"He does know that I was dating and you know, meeting people, so that we've already had that first hurt, I guess," she said. "I think that's the hardest part is when you see their first dating or hookup or whatever it is. That's gonna always take a toll no matter what."

Paul reiterated that her and Mortensen are "done for good" and fans will see that play out on the new season of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives." She also shared that she was the one who ultimately pulled the plug on the relationship.

"If I'm being honest, I did wanna end up with him. That's no secret to anybody," Paul shared. "Did I love him? Absolutely. I had a baby with him. I wanted to be with him. But it just did not work out. There were certain things that were forever closing for me."

Paul shared a little about what she's looking for in a man, saying she would like to stay in the age range of 30s to 40s, saying 27 would be the lowest and 43 the highest, and her new man must be willing to move to Utah.

"I'm sorry if that is a make or break for them, but yeah, I am in Utah, and I have two baby daddies," she said. "I'm going nowhere. So you will be moving to me in Utah."

As far as an ideal career for her dream man, Paul said that "doesn't matter" but would prefer someone who's "hardworking and motivated." She also said she doesn't mind being the "breadwinner" in the relationship.

Fans of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" have been anxiously waiting for season 3 to clear up some cliffhangers dropped during season 2, and the wait is almost over.

Hulu recently announced that the third season of the hit reality show "spills November 13." And now hearing about Paul being the next "Bachelorette," it seems there will be lots and lots of hot tea spilled in the new season.
