Duff has come a long way in her personal and professional journey, but there was a time when she was not sure marriage was in her future.

As PEOPLE highlighted, back in 2020, the star opened up on "The Love Bomb" podcast about her first marriage, which ended in divorce. She admitted that while she and her ex handled the split with "a lot of love," the experience left her questioning the institution altogether.

"Marriage is work, marriage is really hard, and everyone's like, 'Well, are you going to get married again?' I'm like, 'I don't know,'" she said at the time.

Duff explained that she did not "feel the need" to get married again, though she was open to it if it mattered deeply to a future partner. "I got to have the experience and it was awesome," she reflected, adding that the traditional next step did not necessarily define her path forward.

With this teaser, Hilary Duff has her fans more than ready for whatever comes next.
