“The future is Unrivaled.” And that rings more and more true as the second season of the new women's basketball league approaches.
Unrivaled presented by Samsung Galaxy has closed its oversubscribed Series B investment round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with Serena Ventures joining the roster of notable backers. Warner Bros. Discovery and Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures also returned as investors, reinforcing their belief in the league’s vision.
The latest funding pushes Unrivaled’s valuation to $340 million, a landmark achievement for a league that launched only a year ago, and a clear signal of its growing impact on the women’s sports landscape.
Unrivaled Closes Series B Round Reaching $340 Million Valuation

The professional women's basketball league was founded in 2023 by WNBA players Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. The new league, played during the WNBA's offseason, was created from a shared vision to empower athletes and keep players in the states rather than travel overseas to play. With Unrivaled's valuation continually rising, the players benefit directly.
On Monday, Unrivaled presented by Samsung Galaxy announced that they are closing its oversubscribed Series B investment round. Investors who joined this round include Warner Bros. Discovery, Alex Morgan's Trybe Ventures, and Serena Ventures, founded by tennis great Serena Williams.
These investments pushed Unrivaled to being valued at $340 million!
'Unrivaled Is In An Unprecedented Position For A New Sports League'

"We're continuing to align with partners who elevate our league and accelerate our strategic growth. With Bessemer Venture Partners leading this round, Unrivaled is in an unprecedented position for a new sports league," Unrivaled President Alex Bazzell said, according to a press release sent to The Blast.
"Bessemer's world-class leadership, combined with the collective influence of our entire investor group, amplifies our mission and pushes the industry forward. This rise in Unrivaled's valuation reflects investor confidence and proves that athlete-driven models can thrive at the highest levels of business."
According to ESPN, Bazzell also said, "Because we outperformed our revenue expectations in season one by almost doubling it, it allows us to move a bit quicker. It's become a three-year roadmap [instead of five]. In year two, we are really going to double down on the athletes."
Some funds will be used to increase the venue space in Miami, adding 15,000 square feet for player facilities, including a second practice court and 150 seats to the game arena. The average salary of players will stay at six figures, and players all receive equity depending on contracts negotiations.

"What impressed us most is the league's outstanding business performance - achieving both rapid growth and impressive unit economics in its first year of operations - alongside its focus on both athlete advocacy and extraordinary fan engagement. We're thrilled to partner with Unrivaled to take the league to the next level."
Investors from last year include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry, Carmelo Anthony, Coco Gauff, Billie Jean King, Ashton Kutcher, Michael and Nicole Phelps, Dawn Staley, Wanda and Alex Sykes, JuJu Watkins and many others.
