Katy Perry was subject to a wave of hateful remarks last summer, when photos showed her soaking up the sun in the South of France. In July 2024, the 40-year-old stripped down to a colorful bathing suit while in St. Tropez, where she spent time with then-fiance Orlando Bloom, plus the former couple's daughter, Daisy. Katy, who was already sparking Ozempic rumors at the time, showed off her staggering weight loss in a fun, purple bikini, but her nipple-baring display seemed a little too much for some.

The pop sensation, who dropped a significant amount of weight commencing in 2023, showed off her teeny waist and toned legs, but her #FreeTheNipple moment also proved that she hasn't lost her curves.

Balancing out her busty display with family-friendly accessories, Katy rocked a straw sunhat and shades, with actor Orlando spotted in a long-sleeved rash guard and shorts. Katy also wore earrings and a necklace for a chic finish as she, Orlando, and Daisy kept to themselves. The paparazzi weren't far, though, and that meant instant headlines as Katy showcased her body.

"For God's sake, Katy, take a seat and give it a rest already. Raise your young to have an ounce of the dignity you refuse to claim for yourself!" one exasperated-sounding user wrote as The Daily Mail published the photos.

Others body-shamed the brunette. "Cellulite? Seems the hard body on the latest photos from the CD were photoshopped," one troll said.

Noting the mounting pile of shaming remarks, though, another shut things down by saying: "Why do people think it's OK to comment on anyone's body? Everyone should appreciate themselves and others and be OK with that! Grrr be nice! because a smile goes a long way." Katy Perry has since made headlines for ending her nine-year relationship with Orlando, 48. The former couple confirmed their split at the start of July. Shortly after, Katy was spotted in this tiny black bikini while enjoying a yacht outing.

When TMZ shared the photos, one fan gained likes for asking: "Is she ever with her kid?"

Some would argue that the comment wasn't fair. Just after her split announcement, Katy Perry was spotted with Orlando and Daisy. She then headed to a $500 million yacht for another showoff of her bikini body.
