Lil Jon Opens Up About The Hard Work Behind His Transformation

Beyond the flexing and stage lights, Lil Jon has been candid about the effort it took to achieve his bodybuilding debut. Speaking to reporters at the Muscle Beach competition, the rapper emphasized that his transformation was anything but overnight.

“It’s been a lot physically, just in the gym, dedication, eating, focus. I’m winning just by being here and changing my lifestyle, mentally and physically,” he explained. The rapper went on to share that his biggest hope is to inspire others who might doubt themselves. “One of the things I hope is that I can be an inspiration to so many people who say, ‘Oh, I don’t have time. I can’t do it.’ If I can do it, then you can do it too.”

From 'Yeah!' To Yoga

This new fitness milestone comes on the heels of another surprising chapter in Lil Jon’s evolution from his foray into meditation music. In 2024, the rapper released "Total Meditation," which initially drew mixed reactions at first. “Some people were like, ‘What is this gonna sound like? Is he gonna be yelling?’” he told CNN with a laugh.

But once the album dropped, the skepticism quickly faded. “Once it came out and people heard, people were like, ‘Okay, this is actually pretty good.’ And I got so many messages of people telling me how they never meditated and how I helped them to meditate, or how specific songs helped them to deal with issues in their lives," he added.

Lil Jon Says Meditation Music Is Now A 'Priority'

For Jon, the project wasn’t just a one-off experiment, as it’s become a personal mission. “It’s a journey that I’m on. I have probably still like five more albums worth of stuff that we didn’t drop yet. It is a priority to me,” he explained, noting that his focus on mindfulness has become as essential as his work in the gym.
