Reese's latest TikTok came a day after she made headlines for voicing her frustrations with the Chicago Sky's disappointing 2024 season (10-30 at the time of this article) in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.

“I am very vocal about what we need and what I want. I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me," she said.

Reese went on to say she would not be "settling for the same sh-t we did this year."

“We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me. I’m willing and wanting to play with the best. And however I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do this offseason," Reese said.

Angel Reese Apologized For Hurting Chicago Sky Teammates

According to a report from Front Office Sports, Reese's comments reportedly upset her Sky teammates, who planned to address her directly during a team meeting.

However, during a press conference following the Sky's lopsided victory over the Connecticut Sun, Reese offered clarification on her comments and spoke about her relationship with her teammates.

“I’m probably frustrated with myself right now,” Reese said. “I think the language is taken out of context. I didn’t intentionally mean to put down my teammates because they’ve been through this with me throughout the whole season. They’ve busted their [butts] just like I busted my a-s. They showed up through thick and thin with me when nobody could see anything. I would apologize to my teammates, which I already have, about the article and how it was misconstrued.”

Reese Fiercely Defended By Public

Also in the Front Office Sports report, the author suggested Reese's future with the Sky and the league could be in jeopardy. However, the public sentiment swung a day later, with several publications from Yardbarker to USA Today to Sports Blog Nation defending the power forward for her bravery and authenticity.

Several social media users sang a similar tune, with one writing, "The W needed Angel Reese more than any player right now. Without Angel, none of the discord would be happening. No way the W would have kept viewers watching [without her]. The league needed Angel bad, but they will never give her the credit."

Another user echoed that sentiment and said Reese has every right to "pop her sh-t."

"No one is watching those games or going to that arena if she's not on the roster. She is a cash cow in the way that 40-year-old LeBron is a cash cow, meaning it's economically better for your franchise if they're a part of it," they added.

And amid all this team drama, Reese is still gearing up for the release of her first signature shoe, the "Angel Reese 1." The sneaker, which Reese designed in collaboration with Reebok, will hit online retailers and brick-and-mortar stores on September 18, 2025.

Three colorways—pink, white, and black and white—are among the first to be released. Regarding the design, Reese said they're much more than just a signature shoe.

"... it's my style, my story, and my stamp on the game," she said.

"Reebok and I built something that's true to who I am, and I hope it pushed others to stand in their power, too," she said. "At the end of the day, it's built for basketball — made to move and perform at the highest level."
