The reality star complained about feeling the pangs of cancer and menopause all at once, and now she has gotten over the rollercoaster of surgeries and multiple treatments.

Nicole Eggert revealed she was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma towards the end of 2023, initially mistaken by her as early symptoms of menopause.

The television personality explained that more health issues have now worsened her battle with cancer. Eggert explained that the illness has consumed her time and attention via multiple surgeries and chemotherapy treatments.

"I'm so sick of it," Eggert noted to the hosts of the "Pod Meets World" podcast, revealing that she only enjoys two good weeks out of every month. The other weeks are packed with treatment at the doctor's office, which consumes all her time.

The former reality star explained that she went in for chemo before her mastectomy because the cancer was too big. Despite the multiple mastectomies, Eggert noted that the battle was not yet over, but things are definitely looking bright.

"I still have surgeries ahead of me next month that I'm excited about. I really took my time with that because I just didn't know what was the right route for me," the former reality star explained.

She added that she decided to take her time before going under the knife because opinions and options were coming from different angles, almost clouding her thoughts.

The 'Baywatch' Alum's Children Are Her Rock Amid Cancer Battle

Eggert did not have to deal with the throes of her illness alone; she had the support of her daughters through the dark days. She credited her younger kids for helping her snap out of the gloomy days and find purpose in life.

The former TV star added that she had to brace up and be a strong mom for her children, who already carried so much concern for the state of her health.

Eggert's journey with cancer began in 2023 after she discovered a terrible pain in her left breast and ultimately found a lump following a self-examination process.

She immediately consulted a doctor, and after three biopsies and one mammogram, the verdict came in that all her pain and the lump were symptoms of stage 2 cribriform carcinoma cancer.

Eggert Blames Breast Implants For Her Cancer

The reality TV alum took a trip down memory lane last year, revealing that the breast implants she had inserted into her body while she was 18 on "Baywatch" kept her oblivious to her cancer for a long time, as shared by The Blast.

According to her, if she had stayed a small size and not expanded her breasts pockets with the implants to look good on "Baywatch," she might have discovered the lumps early enough.

Now that the deed is done, Eggert is resilient in her bid to fight the cancer, but she still carries a significant fear of how her kids would survive without her by their side.

"[Dilyn's] an adult, but I have a 12-year-old at home where I'm the only caregiver. I have no family. I have nothing," Eggert noted of her two kids, Keegan, 12, and Dilyn, 25.

She shared that she is turning the fear into a weapon to face her illness head-on and not take her diagnosis as the end of her life's story.

The 53-Year-Old Regrets Late Cancer Detection

Last December, AOL reported that Eggert's journey with cancer began as an innocent mistake on her end, which caused her to realize a little bit too late that things were more severe than she placed it to be.

The former reality star explained that she did notice her breasts changing, but she ascribed it to menopause and fluctuating hormonal levels. "I went for my yearly mammograms and my ultrasounds. I have dense breast tissue. So I was doing what I was supposed to be doing," the star explained.

She also experienced an unprecedented form of weight gain, which crept up on her; a phenomenon she later realized was from the cancer cells.

Eggert explained that the type of cancer cells found in her breasts was estrogen receptor-positive. What this means is that the cells grow and spread across the human body using estrogen.

Ultimately, Eggert charged girls and boys to cultivate the habit of routinely checking their breasts. In her words: "Feel yourself up. Get to know your girls. If I had been doing that, I would have found it much sooner."

While the former TV star left the show after two seasons, the consequences spilled into some critical areas of her life, including her dating life.

As noted by the New York Post, Eggert confirmed that her expectations of leaving the show differed from her real-life experience, as she quickly realized she could not separate herself from "Baywatch" and its identity.

"People have an idea of who you are, and that could be several things. And I think it's harder for people to get to know you without this preconceived notion that they have going in," the actress explained.

The reality TV alum added that the realization that she was nothing like what these shows portrayed in real life threw off people in her dating life.

Wishing Nicole Eggert a fast recovery!
