Travis Kelce's Brother Is Calling Shortgun On Bestman Role As He 'Has A Lot Of Friends'

Jason Kelce is already calling dibs on best man duties at his brother Travis Kelce's wedding to Taylor Swift, though he admits the competition might be tough.

The former NFL star joked that while he is "hoping" for the honor, Travis has "a lot of friends" who could also be in the running. Jason's comment comes just days after he enthusiastically celebrated the engagement, sharing a warm message to his younger brother and the pop star.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement on August 26 with a joint Instagram post, sharing a romantic embrace in a flower-filled garden. 

Jason is already looking ahead to his brother's big day with his fiancée, and he is not shy about wanting a front-row role in the celebration.

The former Eagles center opened up about the engagement, sharing just how much it means to see his younger brother start this new chapter. Jason said his priority is simply seeing Travis happy and building a family with someone who truly supports him.

As for the upcoming nuptials, Jason admitted he is "hoping" to be chosen as best man when the wedding day arrives. At the same time, he acknowledged the competition might be tough given Travis's long list of close friends. In his words, "Trav has a lot of friends, I'm just hoping to get the opportunity."

During his appearance on the "Bussin' with the Boys" podcast, he also made it clear how much he values Taylor, saying he has gotten to know her over the past few years and feels she is an incredible match for his brother.

According to him, the couple is not only compatible but also deeply supportive of each other's success.

Jason is clearly thrilled about the upcoming wedding, and if you missed it, he already shared his joy when he first addressed Travis and Taylor's engagement.

The Daily Mail noted that on the August 27 episode of their "New Heights" podcast, Jason carried the moment alongside producers Brandon Borders and Jake Chatzky.

"There is one gigantic piece of new news that just hit the waves," Jason said before sending a massive shoutout to the newly engaged couple. The 37-year-old called it "the proposal heard around the world," capping off his cheers with an unfiltered "F-ck yeah!" that left no doubt how thrilled he was.

The celebration was lighthearted but heartfelt, with Jason making it clear how proud he is of his younger brother's milestone.

Travis and Taylor may be planning a wedding, but they are not sharing a permanent address just yet. The Blast highlighted that while the couple announced their engagement on August 26, they are still living separately and have yet to decide on a future home together.

With demanding careers and constant travel, the pair has not made house-hunting a top priority. It was also noted that despite the lack of a joint home, sources close to the couple say it is only a matter of time before they officially settle in. 

There is also speculation that they may choose Ohio, near Travis's hometown of Cleveland Heights, as a potential base. Wherever they land, fans are already watching closely for their next big move.

For now, both stars are reportedly sticking to their own routines. Travis remains based in Kansas City, where he plays for the Chiefs, while Taylor rotates between her properties in New York, Rhode Island, Beverly Hills, and Nashville.

The songwriter's teenage words are coming back around after her engagement to Travis, and the timing feels uncanny. An old interview clip has resurfaced, showing the young actress confidently predicting she would not walk down the aisle until her mid-30s.

With her trademark curls and a playful grin, she told the host that marriage was not in her immediate future. When pressed, she doubled down with certainty: "No, it's gonna be late. Late in life."

The exchange turned lighthearted when the interviewer joked that her mom, Andrea, would not let her get married before 35, which made Taylor laugh even harder.

Wedding bells are not the only thing on the horizon for Travis and Taylor. Insiders say the newly engaged pair is also looking ahead to parenthood.

The Blast reported that those close to them revealed they have always dreamed of having children together. The feeling is mutual as both see raising a family as part of their future, and they may not wait too long before making it happen. 

It is worth remembering that Taylor's feelings about motherhood have shifted over the years. More than a decade ago, she said she pictured herself with at least four kids.

Travis, meanwhile, has dropped hints about fatherhood in lighter moments, once joking on his "New Heights" podcast with Arnold Schwarzenegger that he might name a future child after "Conan the Barbarian."
