The 37-year-old "We Ride" hitmaker, known for his raw storytelling and blue-collar roots, was performing at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds on Friday night when authorities say he began exhibiting signs of intoxication and erratic behavior. On Friday, officers said Martin resisted at first before they were forced to escort him out in front of a concerned crowd. "Due to his impaired state, he became resistant and had to be forcibly escorted out," the sheriff's office said in a statement posted to Facebook.

They added that while the incident initially caused alarm among fans and organizers, Martin's later admission about his ongoing battle with alcoholism reframed the situation as one of compassion. Following the show, the Louisiana-born singer addressed the situation directly, offering an emotional confession about where he is now and what he plans to do next.

Clips shared online showed Martin shouting onstage before officers stepped in. The following day, the country star took to Instagram with a candid post, admitting he has been struggling behind the scenes.

"Sorry I let y'all down tonight, truth is I'm not ok, been hitting it hard for a while and haven't took time to be honest with myself about my mental health," Martin wrote. "I miss my babies and my family, but lately I've learned I let my fragile mind override my heart at times, and tonight it got the best of me."

He continued, "I apologize for the bad days, but I'm grateful for the countless good nights we've shared this year. It's been the most consistent streak I've seen in years."

In another post, he shared an article from Whiskey Riff, admitting this is "not the highlight of my life, and not the best angle."

"I don't remember this one, but sorry it wasn't the show you came to see, but it's a show all the same," he added. "Apologies to the fans… f-ck the trolls.. and respect for The Sheriffs office I appreciate y'all getting me out of my own way.. and honestly I'm thankful for the support and understanding."

Martin revealed he "doesn't remember a damn thing" except "waking up in a psych ward." "I got too damn faded, that's just the facts, that was some expensive a-s Jack, found out they don't f-ck around in New York," he continued.

Martin didn't shy away from admitting his ongoing battle with addiction, telling fans, "I'm not ever proud when I reach for another drink. Hope y'all can find it in you to forgive me and hope I can be a better version of myself. I'm going to slow down, get back to writing songs, and getting the help I need."

Sheriff Kyle Bourgault later praised the deputies' handling of the situation. "Our deputies handled the situation professionally and without injury to anyone involved. But the larger issue is not the resistance we encountered; it is the battle Mr. Martin himself is facing," he said. "My hope is that Mr. Martin receives the resources and support he needs to overcome this struggle and continue to share his gift of music with fans in a healthier way."

Despite the shocking nature of the incident, fans flooded Bryan Martin's social media with messages of encouragement and compassion after he opened up about his struggles.
