Kaitlyn Bristowe Asks Fans For 'Prayers' Again Over Stepdad's Cancer Battle

Kaitlyn Bristowe is not giving up on her stepdad!

The Canadian TV personality has informed the public once again on the state of her stepfather's health, admitting that it has really declined.

Kaitlyn Bristowe has consistently maintained an open stance on her feelings about her parents on social media, whether regarding her biological father or her loving stepdad.

The former dancer explained to her followers on Instagram that she just received a heartbreaking update on her father's health. The new information comes nearly eight months after she asked the public to keep her father in their prayers.

She explained that the reason for her post a few months ago was that her stepdad was going in for a necessary surgery to remove the cancer.

"Your prayers worked, and they had gotten it all. He then went back for a follow-up scan, and it has moved into his stomach. He is now battling an incurable stage 4 cancer," she added.

Bristowe explained that the family is all devastated, but she remains hopeful that he will beat the timeline given to him at the hospital. 

"But I really do believe in the power of prayer, the power of manifestation, and the power of love. So please send it all his way," the media personality emphasized. She rounded up the post, stressing that her stepdad means the world to her and their blended family. 

"It was really special to spend the last few days playing cards, eating home-cooked meals, and just telling each other how much we cherish our family's relationship. Time is so precious," Bristowe stated.

In a world where people struggle to form a close bond with their parents, let alone their stepparents, and some will say especially the fathers, Bristowe is enjoying the best of both worlds.

The reality star showered her biological dad with love on Instagram two years ago with a cute set of selfies on her feed. The TV star raved about her father, informing the public that she had maintained a very close relationship with her dad since she was a child.

"It could be anything from needing him to pick up some tampons, to needing a ride home, to crying about a boy," Bristowe added. She praised him for being a listener and a very supportive person who is a rock in her life and endeavors.

Bristowe empathized with her friends and everyone who had lost their dads and thus could not relate to her experience, adding that she wished she could hug them.

In April, The Blast noted that the former reality star got candid about her romance with Jason Tartick. According to her, the relationship was nearly a parasitic one, where she did not have an equal financial relationship.

She recalled always approaching her ex during the relationship to split the monthly bills, a practice that lasted for the four years of their union. The scenario made her feel very used and underappreciated.

Bristowe added that Tartick, a former reality star, may have milked their relationship to his advantage to boost his public image and career.

However, she bears no hard feelings towards the relationship; instead, she shared on the podcast that Tartick must deeply introspect and discover his true identity. Bristowe and Tartick met for the first time during the 2018 taping of the "Bachelorette," and dated until they split in 2023.

After their separation, Bristowe experienced a barrage of attacks from people who accused her of ruining every tangible relationship in her life. She stressed that the accountability part of her breakup was important to her, but fans only know as far as they can see.

"I knew it was going to be bad, but I didn't know it was going to be THAT bad of what people were saying to me," Bristowe explained.

She added that her ex, Tartick, especially exposed her to more attacks from online trolls despite a promise to protect each other. Bristowe explained that it did not matter who was right or wrong; all they agreed on was making sure no one felt hurt after the split.

The TV personality added that her ex, apart from not coming online to defend her publicly, also posted a video on social media that drove further hate. In her words:

"The messages that I got after that were just awful. And he was like, 'Well, I didn't get one message about it.' And I was like, 'I did!'" 

The former reality star, in 2021, did not hide his excitement to be coupled up with Tartick as his fiancée. She shared with co-hosts on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast that it would not come as a surprise to her if she were pregnant before walking down the aisle.

According to PEOPLE, she stated on the podcast that she and Tartick will make great parents due to their similar values and plans for their future family. She gushed excitedly about her future as a mom, affirming that she had put every plan in place to ensure that by freezing her eggs.

On when the right time would be, Bristowe stressed that as soon as the nuptials are done, she is ready for a bun in her oven. The 40-year-old starred in the 11th season of "The Bachelorette" in 2015 and went public with her romance with Tartick in 2019.
