It was supposed to be the happiest week of her life, but instead, it turned into a scene out of an action movie.
Just days before tying the knot in Vermont, Massachusetts bride-to-be, Julia Pallis, watched her wedding dreams nearly vanish when her car, stuffed with decorations, drinks, and most importantly, her wedding gown, was stolen in broad daylight.
However, instead of crumbling under the pressure, Pallis did the unthinkable. She jumped into detective mode, tracked her laptop, and raced alongside the police to save her stolen wedding.
Massachusetts Bride-To-Be Nearly Lost Her Big Day Essentials
Julia Pallis and her fiancé, firefighter Collin Tully, were preparing for their Vermont wedding when disaster struck.
On the morning of August 28, the couple’s car was “packed to the brim” with everything needed for their celebration.
“Boxes, drinks, signs, decorations,” Tully explained to WHDH, adding that the most valuable item of all, Pallis’s wedding dress, was safely tucked inside.
However, in a split second, their plans unraveled. Tully left the car running outside his home in Mattapan to grab one last thing.
“It could only have been a minute, minute and a half tops,” he recalled. “Then I walked outside to not having a car anymore.”
The couple’s excitement turned into heartbreak, as nearly every detail they had worked on for months was suddenly gone.
The car, the gown, the carefully planned décor, and even basic supplies had vanished into thin air.
Bride Turned Detective With GPS Tracking

Instead of breaking down, the Massachusetts bride-to-be went into fight mode.
She suddenly remembered her laptop was inside the stolen vehicle.
“Oh, my laptop is in there,” she recalled thinking. “I can track my laptop!”
Armed with the location signal, Pallis jumped into her personal car and began following the trail herself while updating the police.
The chase zigzagged through the Boston suburbs, with Pallis feeding police real-time updates on the car’s movements.
Meanwhile, her partner marveled at her composure under stress. “I’m sure maybe inside, she was a little angry, but she was a rock star on the outside for sure,” he said.
Police And Massachusetts Bride Unite In High-Speed Pursuit

Bridgewater Police say they were notified around 8:42 a.m. that the stolen car had entered their city and that its location was being tracked via the laptop.
Within 10 minutes, officers had eyes on the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop, triggering a pursuit that spanned multiple streets and extended into neighboring East Bridgewater.
According to the Bridgewater Police Department, the chase moved from Water Street onto a series of residential roads; at one point, the driver allegedly hopped a sidewalk to bypass a cruiser.
The pursuit continued into East Bridgewater, where additional officers joined the effort.
After a tense sequence of maneuvers, police successfully forced the car to a stop.
They smashed the driver’s window when commands were ignored. Behind the wheel was 31-year-old Jason Grossett of Mattapan, who was immediately arrested.
Details Of The Culprit’s Charges

Authorities later revealed Grossett was charged with a list of offenses, including Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Subsequent Offense), Failure to Stop for Police, Reckless Operation, Operating with a Suspended License (Subsequent Offense), Speeding, Marked Lanes Violation, Failure to Stop or Yield, and Operator Refusing to Identify Self.
Police also said he had an active warrant. An arraignment in Brockton District Court was scheduled for Friday, August 29.
As the adrenaline died down, gratitude took over. Tully told the outlet that his fiancé “acted quickly” and kept officers updated “until police cruisers could eventually catch up to her.”
While Pallis received numerous accolades, she reserved her deepest gratitude for the female officer who intercepted the car at just the right moment.
“Honestly that officer that was driving the detail, we owe her our whole wedding,” Pallis said. “She’s the MVP. We’re thanking our lucky stars for her.”
Massachusetts Bride Goes From Nightmare To Happily Ever After

With their belongings safe and the suspect in custody, the Massachusetts bride and her man turned their focus back to what truly mattered.
According to WHDH, the couple proceeded with their wedding weekend as planned.
Looking back, Pallis said the experience only made her bond with Tully stronger.
“We’re more confident after going through this than we were before,” she admitted.
She also revealed that they were more than convinced that walking down the aisle was the right decision.
