Katy Perry's real estate battle against veteran Carl Westcott continues with her plea for "justice."
The sensational singer fell from grace in 2020 after she sparked outrage for fighting against an elderly man over his $15 million Montecito mansion. She emerged victorious after a judge ruled the veteran could not back out of the sale agreement in 2023.
A year later, Katy Perry took legal possession of the home but lodged a damages claim for $6 million against a bedridden Carl Westcott. She recently appeared in court to fight for the losses she endured from the deal, causing the veteran's loved ones to call her out for destroying their lives.
Katy Perry's Mansion Battle Heats Up With Damage Claim

According to new reports, the 85-year-old man who sold his home to Perry was not only bedridden but required 24/7 hospice care. He received $9 million for the mansion's sale and continues to fight for the remainder, while the singer wanted $6 million in damages.
Their case went down in front of Judge Joseph Lipner at the Superior Court of the State of California in Los Angeles on Tuesday, August 26, where shocking revelations were made. Perry claimed she was fighting for "justice" while getting cross-examined by Westcott's attorney, Andrew Thomas.
Her comment did not sit right with the ailing veteran's family, with one of his sons, Chart, telling The U.S. Sun: "Katy talks about seeking 'justice,' but for five years my family has endured a painful legal battle while our father, a mentally disabled 85-year-old Army veteran, is in declining health."
The Veteran's Son Slams The Singer's Lack Of Empathy

Chart stressed that Perry had gone out of her way to make his family miserable, noting she owned multiple homes in Montecito and a significant net worth. Despite her riches, she forced his ailing father into a years-long legal battle because he chose to back out of a deal for health reasons.
"She could live anywhere in the world, but she chose to press forward in a way that has deeply hurt our family. We wish there had been more empathy, more humanity, and more understanding," Chart lamented. He also slammed the bombshell revelation that Perry wasn't the house's real owner.
Contrary to past reports that claimed Perry had entered a deal with Westcott for the Montecito mansion, the real buyer was her ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom. She confirmed his involvement during Tuesday's hearing while getting cross-examined by Westcott's attorney.
How Orlando Bloom Became Embroiled In The Legal Drama

A source who attended the court session noted Perry appeared via Zoom. They claimed she was "very polite" and "calm" as she addressed the court during her cross-examination. When Westcott's attorney asked if she had bought the Montecito mansion, she denied her involvement.
According to Perry, the property was purchased by her ex-fiancé through one of his LLCs, D Dove B LLC. She emphasized that when the title to the mansion was acquired on May 17, 2024, it never passed to her or any entity she controlled. She also did not fund Bloom's LLC to purchase the house.
News of Bloom's involvement in the legal drama was revealed by Perry's business manager, Bernie Gudv, last Thursday. During his cross-examination, he denied helping his client purchase the mansion, noting that she was not the actual buyer.
Gudv initially claimed he did not know who bought it. However, when Westcott's attorney pressed him, the singer's longtime business manager confessed: "I believe Mr Bloom bought the house through some controlled entity."
Why The 'Roar' Hitmaker Is Fighting For Damages

The Blast covered Perry's cross-examination, reporting that she claimed the only thing she could gain from the legal battle was "justice." She explained that her deal with Westcott had caused her financial losses due to their highly publicized legal battle.
Perry cited income loss, legal fees, and other costs associated with the property. As stated, she gained ownership of the home after a judge ruled Westcott could not back out of the deal. The veteran attempted to stop the sale, claiming he wasn't in the right mental state due to his health.
However, the judge sided with Perry, stressing that Westcott failed to prove he could not sign the sale contract and deemed him coherent and rational. The Montecito mansion that started the legal drama featured 8 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, an infinity pool, a jacuzzi, and more luxuries.
Katy Perry's Ex-Fiancé Reportedly Shocked By Her New Relationship

The update in Perry and Westcott's mansion battle followed the end of the media personality's relationship with Bloom. The Blast shared that their separation was confirmed by multiple sources in June, with Perry seemingly moving on in July.
The singer was spotted on what appeared to be a romantic date with Justin Trudeau in Canada after traveling to the country for the North American leg of her tour. They were seen having a good time, heading to the restaurant's rooftop bar after their meal.
A source close to Bloom alleged he was blindsided by Perry's link to Trudeau; however, he wished her "nothing but peace and happiness." The former couple were together for nearly a decade and welcomed a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, in August 2020.
