Maren Morris Creates Once-In-A-Lifetime Opportunity For Emerging Musicians

Maren Morris, the Grammy-winning country-pop singer and songwriter known for hits like "The Bones" and "My Church," is expanding her impact on the music industry in a whole new way. After years of topping charts and earning acclaim for her powerhouse vocals and songwriting, Morris is now turning her focus to the next generation of talent. The award-winning star has teamed up with Reign Storm Clean Energy to launch Maren’s Masterclass, a groundbreaking mentorship program for aspiring musicians that will give rising artists an unprecedented opportunity to learn directly from Maren Morris, one of today’s most influential performers.

From now through September 22, aspiring artists across genres can audition by submitting a short video to Reign Storm’s website. Musicians must be 18 or older, and submissions are open to singers, songwriters, DJs, producers, and bands looking for their big break.

Three winners will be chosen to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Nashville, Tennessee, where they’ll meet Morris at the legendary Blackbird Studio for an in-person mentoring session.

The experience doesn’t stop there. Winners will also receive two additional virtual mentor sessions with Morris and up to five hours of studio time to record their own music.

Even those who don’t win a mentorship slot will still have a chance to score a year’s supply of Reign Storm to fuel their creative grind.

Morris says the program is her way of paying it forward. “I’m so happy to be partnering with Reign Storm to launch this mentorship program,” she explained. “In the past I was lucky to have mentors who were willing to pass on their knowledge of the music industry. I'm proud to now have a chance to mentor others and cannot wait to see the amazing new emerging talent that is out there.”

This mentorship effort also ties back to Reign Storm’s mission to fuel creativity and empower people to “Live Life Better.” By partnering with Morris, the brand is positioning the program as a blend of artistry, wellness, and empowerment.

Maren Morris knows firsthand how challenging it can be to break into the music industry. The Texas-born singer began writing songs as a teenager before moving to Nashville to chase her dreams, eventually finding breakout success with "My Church" in 2016. Since then, she’s become one of country music’s most celebrated crossover artists, winning multiple Grammy Awards and earning respect for her fearless songwriting and genre-bending sound.

But beyond the accolades, Morris has also been candid about the struggles that come with navigating the industry, particularly the pressure, scrutiny, and barriers faced by women and marginalized voices in country music.

Morris has long used her platform to push for inclusivity and equity, calling out toxic patterns while championing artists who might otherwise be overlooked.

“I felt like I don’t want to say goodbye, but I really cannot participate in the really toxic arms of this institution anymore,” she said in 2023 about leaving the country music scene. “I love living in Nashville, I have my family there. … There’s a reason why people come there from L.A. and N.Y. to write with us because we have amazing songwriters there, so that’s not going to change. But I couldn’t do this circus anymore of feeling like I have to absorb and explain people’s bad behaviors and laugh it off. I just couldn’t do that after 2020. … I’ve changed.”

By launching Maren’s Masterclass, Morris is taking that advocacy a step further, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment for new talent to grow.
