Jenelle Evans Breaks Silence On Where She Stands With Son Amid Family Drama

Jenelle Evans is not losing sleep over her oldest son's decision to move out following a heated dispute. 

The MTV's "16 and Pregnant" alum got candid about her fractured relationship with her son, Jace Vahn Evans, nearly a week after it was reported that he left Las Vegas for North Carolina. Although the incident broke her heart, the entertainer noted she had other priorities.

Jenelle Evans welcomed three children with multiple partners, and her journey to giving birth to her first child, Jace, was depicted on MTV's reality TV show. She welcomed a second son, Kaiser Orion Griffith, with her ex-boyfriend, Nathan Griffith, and a daughter, Ensley Jolie Eason, with her ex-husband, David Eason.

Jenelle broke her silence about her issues with Jace during a recent Q&A session with fans on her Instagram Stories. The "Let's Catch Up" segment was an emotional rollercoaster as many did not hold back in hitting the entertainer where it hurts.

"How do you feel about Jace?" a curious fan asked, prompting Jenelle to be honest. She confessed that it was "a full circle moment" dealing with her issues with her oldest child. However, she wasn't losing sleep over their differences.

"Hopefully he can change and follow the rules, but I have two other little kids to think of as well and their well-being," Jenelle replied. Another fan wondered if she believed history was repeating itself, referencing her acrimonious relationship with her mom, Barbara Evans.

The fan's query about how Jace's behavior mirrored Jenelle's turbulent bond with her mom sparked a lengthy response from the media personality. She seemingly blamed her son's behavior on Barbara, claiming she had to unlearn the toxicity she was raised in.

"It's the way he was raised with my mom, I had to rewire myself out of being too reactive in situations and learn to sit and listen," Jenelle explained. She noted she had to teach herself not to act like the person she grew up with and continues to work on herself to date.

"I had to break the family cycle, and it's happening again," Jenelle lamented. She lost custody of Jace shortly after his birth in 2009 due to personal circumstances, and Barbara raised him until March 2023, when Jenelle regained custody of the teenager.

The Q&A continued, with some fans calling out Jenelle for her alleged issues with Child Protective Services. She laughed off the assumption when someone wondered if her nightly rendezvous had stopped because Jace revealed her party lifestyle.

Jenelle claimed she never partied every night because she had kids to take to school in the morning. She echoed similar sentiments when another accused her of leaving Jace to babysit his younger siblings so she could have fun with her friends.

"That's not true, I have been out twice since my friend moved in," Jenelle claimed, noting she used a babysitting service. She added that Jace babysat maybe twice or thrice in his whole life.

As for the allegations of CPS visiting her home, Jenelle explained it was a false rumor. She also denied faking an arm injury to escape prosecution.

Jenelle's Q&A session with fans came days after The Blast reported that Jace had moved to North Carolina to live with relatives. Sources confirmed the relocation, claiming it was his wish to leave his mother and younger siblings following his dispute with Jenelle.

They noted Jenelle did not stop Jace because his turbulent behavior was affecting her other children negatively, and she wished to raise them in a stable environment. As for what caused the rift within the family, sources stressed that Jace "doesn't do well with authority."

The teenager reportedly got into a heated argument with Jenelle because she put her foot down after he got into trouble with the law and was placed on probation. Sources noted the terms of his probation were very strict, including an order for him to attend an anger management class.

The issues between Jenelle and Jace became evident when he leaked their text messages, accusing his mom of mistreatment and her ex-husband of physical abuse. The Blast shared that the drama skyrocketed when sources claimed CPS was involved.
