Since being imprisoned on charges of knowingly receiving and possessing child sexual abuse materials, Josh Duggar has made multiple attempts to overturn his conviction.

His latest effort comes with a plea for help, as he revealed that his financial situation is in shambles.

In newly filed court documents, the "19 Kids and Counting" alum claimed he had just $0.22 in his account at the time of filing. He also explained that he has no way of increasing the balance, as he currently does not have a paying job or any other source of income.

"Movant currently performs a prison work assignment but does not receive any pay for compensation. Therefore, Movant has no employment income to report," Duggar's filing read, per The U.S. Sun.

Duggar went on to reveal that although he previously received occasional financial help from family and friends, that support has stopped in recent months.

He wrote, "Movant occasionally receives money from family and friends, but has not during the reporting time for this request."

This appears to have led to his "limited" use of his prison's commissary, which Duggar claimed had a balance of zero when he filed the documents.

Duggar revealed in the filing that he is still burdened by debts tied to "legal restitution and fines" from prior court proceedings.

When he was sentenced in 2022, he was ordered to pay $50,100 in fines and special assessments, which is possibly one of the debts he appears to be referencing.

Due to his dire financial situation, Duggar argued that he is "unable to pay the costs of these proceedings."

He also formally requested relief from the court, insisting he is entitled to such assistance.

Duggar's request for help isn't a strange occurrence, as he had previously asked the court to provide him with a free legal team to assist with his appeal.

At the time, he claimed that his financial circumstances prevented him from being able to afford counsel.

"I seek the Court's assistance in appointing counsel to help evaluate my case and, if appropriate, prepare a motion to vacate, set aside, or correct my conviction and sentence," he wrote in a letter to Judge Timothy L. Brooks, according to The U.S. Sun.

In his request, he also explained why he was seeking a legal team to review his case again, despite his previous attempts at appeal.

"I believe there are significant issues relating to trial errors, evidentiary rulings, and other constitutional violations that merit a thorough post-conviction review," Duggar further noted. "I am unable to fully assess these matters on my own, which is why I seek the assistance of qualified counsel to help evaluate whether relief is justified."

Part of the constitutional violations Duggar claimed occurred in his case centered on the testimony of his ex-girlfriend's mother, Bobye Holt.

He argued that Holt's "uncorroborated and prejudicial testimony" violated his constitutional rights and deprived him of a fair trial.

Holt had testified during the trial that she once prevented her older daughter, Kaeleigh, from continuing to date Duggar after learning he had allegedly molested a teenager in the past.

Duggar, who was never charged in connection with the alleged molestation, argued that the court should never have allowed Holt's testimony.

He also alleged that Holt's motivation to testify against him was "far from neutral," and mentioned she had posted several "anti-Duggar" statements on social media during his trial.
