Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story just got even sweeter.
After weeks of rumors, the couple confirmed their engagement, but now Travis’s dad, Ed Kelce, is sharing exactly how it all went down.
In a new interview, Ed revealed his son popped the question even before the big announcement.
But the cutest part? Taylor was starting to feel “antsy” waiting for the proposal. What was supposed to be a carefully planned moment turned into something simple, romantic, and unforgettable.
Ed Says Travis Kelce Proposed To Taylor Swift Two Weeks Ago

Ed let fans in on the real timeline. Speaking with News 5 Cleveland, he shared that Travis asked Taylor to marry him almost two weeks ago at his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” Ed said.
He explained that the NFL star had been planning something more elaborate but ultimately decided to move sooner.
Ed admitted that the reason his son decided to propose earlier was because of the pop icon.
According to him, Travis wanted to hold off until this week, but Taylor was getting a little “antsy.”
Both Ed and Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, encouraged the 35-year-old to go for it instead of dragging things out.
“He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event,” Ed explained.
Ed Advised Travis On How To Propose To Taylor Swift

The proud dad shared that he advised his son not to overthink the moment, reminding him that the magic wasn’t about the setting but the gesture itself.
“I told him repeatedly, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you,” he said
Thankfully, the advice worked! The Kansas City Chiefs star popped the question sooner, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Detailing how the proposal unfolded, Ed revealed that it was both simple and meaningful.
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’” Ed recalled. “They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.”
Right after Taylor said yes, the couple began FaceTiming their families to share the happy news.
“They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew,” Ed said proudly.
Ed Recounts How He Found Out About Taylor And Travis’s Engagement

While the world found out about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement on social media, Ed said he found out during an Eagles practice a couple of weeks ago.
He recalled getting a FaceTime call from the couple and immediately knowing what was happening.
“As soon as I saw the FaceTime, I saw it was Travis, and then I saw Taylor there, I knew what they were going to say,” he said.
The couple ensured that everyone in their families knew about the engagement immediately.
Ed noted that he had known about Travis’s plan for months and had even expected it during last year’s NFL season.
Reflecting on a recent evening together in Kansas City, he shared that they attended an ESPN screening of The Kingdom and enjoyed a patio dinner at Travis’s home.
Watching them, he said, “It’s truly kinda neat. They’re just crazy about each other.”
