Neil Patrick Harris' Twins Are Almost As Tall As Their Dads And 'Grown Up' In Rare Family Photo

Neil Patrick Harris took to his Instagram account to share a rare family photo featuring his twins Harper and Gideon, along with his husband David Burtka.

The image, which was taken in the backyard of their luxury East Hampton holiday home, left fans delighted as they were amazed at how much the twins have grown.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka previously opened up about how they handled the "rough" transition to sobriety in their marriage.

Not often do you see Neil Patrick Harris post his twin children, Harper and Gideon, but things may be taking a new turn.

The "How I Met Your Mother" star took to his Instagram page on Monday to share a sweet photo of his family, featuring his teenage children, whom he shares with husband David Burtka.

The photo shows the family smiling together against the scenic backdrop of their luxury estate in East Hampton, New York.

Harris sported gray pants, a black button-down shirt, and black shoes, while the others rocked tan and yellow outfits.

"The loves of my life," Harris captioned the photo, adding several red heart emojis and tagging his husband.

Fans took to the comment section to share their surprised reactions at how Harris and Burtka's twins are now "so grown," as well as the striking resemblance they share with their parents.

A fan wrote, "Aw, they're adults now, I knew. Gideon would look like you, but wow. Beautiful preteen adults."

Another person wrote, "Beautiful family! They're not babies anymore. Time sure does fly by."

"Wait a minute now, how are they that grown up already??" a shocked fan quizzed, while another added, "Wait. Wait. Wait. These are the babies?! No. Can't be lolll."

One user noted, "The way both kids manage to look like both parents when they're biologically one of each is just amazing."

"Last picture I saw, those kids were babies, where did that time go?" another fan said.

Harris and Burtka have been together since 2004 and tied the knot in 2014, with the delay said to be due to the slow legalization of same sex marriage at the time.

They welcomed their twins via a surrogate with implanted embryos, one with Harris' sperm and one with Burtka's.

During a previous appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show," Burtka joked that he thinks his daughter, Harper Grace, may be his biological child, saying, "She's like, 'Hey everybody, I'm here!'" according to People Magazine.

He then added that he thinks his son Gideon may be biologically Harris' because he's "more heady and intellectual."

In a 2022 chat with Entertainment Tonight, Harris gushed over their enduring relationship and expressed their deep love for each other.

"David and I started dating, and we never stopped, so in an interesting way, it's all I've known," Harris told the news outlet at the time.

He added, "I didn't come out till later. I didn't really date a bunch of random people. I wasn't around during the times of Grinder, swipe left, swipe right, so I fell head over heels for this dude, and he was into me, and we started living together really quickly, and now we have 11-year-old kids, and we're still going strong."

Harris and Burtka may have been together for a long time, but like every other couple, they have their distinct tendencies, and try not to let them affect their marriage.

The "Doogie Howser, M.D." star is an avid cocktail lover, while Burtka has been sober for more than eight years now.

Back in May, they opened up about the social and personal challenges it brought to their relationship and how they had a "rough" transition into sobriety.

"I think a lot of self-respect and respect for the other person is integral to any relationship. And so if it's important for David that I don't drink, I won't," Harris said, per People Magazine. "And he's proven that it's okay if I were to have a drink if he's not going to. I think being able to honor each other, regardless of the social situation, is always helpful."

"Maybe in the beginning it was a little rough because, you know, [Neil] lost his drinking buddy, so it was a little difficult," Burtka noted. "But after time tells, it's great."

The professional chef then joked that he sometimes loves to "push alcohol on" Harris so they can go shopping afterwards, adding that the actor "is more inclined to buy me things. So I'm like 'You should have another glass, your second glass of wine!'"
