The tragic deaths of "American Idol" music producer Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca are continuing to send shockwaves through Los Angeles more than a month after the couple was found inside their $4.5 million Encino home. The music industry power couple, both 70, were discovered on July 14 following a welfare check, days after police had already been called to their residence. Authorities say the pair was killed during a brutal home invasion, with prosecutors charging a 22-year-old suspect in connection with the slayings. The case has gripped Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley community, sparking outrage and heartbreak among friends, fans, and colleagues who knew the beloved "American Idol" music producer and her husband.
Death Certificates Reveal 'American Idol' Producer Robin Kaye And Husband Died From Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Now, death certificates obtained by PEOPLE confirm Kaye and Deluca both died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained during the July 10 attack. Documents reveal Deluca passed within seconds of being shot, while Kaye succumbed to her injuries within minutes. Though the fatal injuries were inflicted on July 10, the couple's date of death is listed as July 14 at 4:14 p.m., the time when LAPD officers ultimately discovered their bodies following a welfare check.
Their manner of death has been officially ruled homicide.
What Happened That Day

Police say the "American Idol" music producer and her husband had just returned from a grocery run when they encountered an intruder inside their $4.5 million Encino home. The armed suspect, described in an affidavit as a man wearing a baseball cap, gray shirt, and black sandals, allegedly used a firearm belonging to the couple to execute them in their own residence.
The chilling affidavit noted the home's front door had been left unlocked and its security system disabled.
Despite two 911 calls and multiple visits from law enforcement to the home on July 10, it wasn't until four days later that a friend's request for a welfare check led police to the grisly discovery.
Autopsies were performed on both victims, confirming the couple's fatal injuries. While Kaye's initial death certificate incorrectly indicated an autopsy hadn't been done, an amendment filed on August 4 corrected the error. Both Kaye and Deluca were cremated on July 23.
Suspect Charged In 'American Idol' Producer's Murder

Authorities have confirmed that 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, the man accused in the double homicide, had no apparent ties to Robin Kaye or Thomas Deluca. Still, court records paint a troubling picture of his past behavior and mental health struggles.
In 2023, Boodarian was arrested on misdemeanor charges after allegedly threatening his stepfather with a knife. Months later, he faced additional charges for reportedly assaulting both his mother and sister. By the end of that year, however, all three cases were dismissed after doctors determined he was not mentally fit to stand trial.
According to NBC Los Angeles, a judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation that resulted in Boodarian being placed under a conservatorship, meaning another adult was appointed to oversee major decisions in his life. While the findings of that evaluation remain sealed, court filings show that he was released from jail after the ruling.
Now, prosecutors have charged Boodarian with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree burglary in the killings of the "American Idol" music producer and Deluca.
