Caitlin Clark has been a sponsored Nike athlete since 2022, when she signed a name, image, and likeness deal with the massive athleisure brand during her time in college.

Two years later, before the 2024 WNBA draft, news broke that Clark had signed an impressive $28 million deal with Nike, which came loaded with a custom apparel line and a signature shoe.

On August 25, 2025, Nike officially unveiled Caitlin Clark's signature logo, two interlocking C's, prompting social media users to share their unfiltered thoughts regarding the design online.

Social Media Users Are Roasting Caitlin Clark Over Her Ner Nike Logo

Clark, who currently plays for the Indiana Fever, has had fans on the edges of their seats since the news broke that she'd have her own sneaker with Nike Athletics.

Although the WNBA sensation's signature shoe won't hit stores until sometime in 2026, the sports giant recently revealed Clark's official logo.

According to a press release from the company, the logo, which consists of two interlocking Cs, is "instantly recognizable" and is supposed to be "as extraordinary as the athlete they represent."

The interwoven Cs also reflect Clark's "magnetic connection with fans around the globe who are drawn to her unwavering confidence, steadfast commitment, and remarkable shooting ability."

"Tucked between the larger letters is a smaller, hidden C that represents how Caitlin's game was built from the inside out, a product of her passion for the sport, relentless drive, and constant pursuit of perfection," the press release stated.

Caitlin Clark Is 'Proud' To Join Nike

As a Nike signature athlete, Clark is dedicated to helping grow the future of women's basketball, and according to her, being part of the Nike family is only the beginning.

"Nike's signature roster features all-time greats, and I am incredibly proud to join some of the best athletes in the world," said Clark. "I'm excited to share a first look at what we've started to create together."

Regarding her signature design, which, according to Nike, will "come to life for the first time" in a collection of athleisure wear that reflects Clark's personal style on the court, the athlete said it's "more than just a logo." For Clark, it's a "dream come true."

"People always talk about leaving your mark on the game, and this is another way I can do that," she said.

Fans Savagely Rip Clark's Logo

"No shade, I could've made this," a user wrote in the WNBA thread on Reddit, while another commented, "I expected it to be a Coco Chanel ripoff."

A third user added, "Fire this designer," and a fourth posted, "This looks terrible."

Other users also commented on the simplicity of the design, with one specifically saying the interwoven Cs "looks so generic."

"They could've done better for an athlete like CC," they added.

In the r/graphic_design subreddit, more users posted about how much Clark's logo reminds them of things unrelated to her, such as an engineering firm, a busted football, a globe, and even a commercial airline.

"Looks like total sh-t and makes me think of some generic corporation," a user posted.

Caitlin Clark Signed A $28 Million Deal With Nike

The debut of Clark's logo had been marked on sports enthusiasts' calendars for some time, considering the record-breaking athlete signed a historic deal with Nike in 2024 worth $28 million.

According to a report from ESPN, Calrk's deal is the richest sponsorship contract for a women's basketball player in history.

Other major brands also participated in the bidding, including Under Armour, Adidas, and Puma.

Puma walked away from negotiations after learning that the bidding would start at $3 million per year, whereas Under Armour offered Clark $16 million over four years, and Adidas offered her $6 million over the same period. Both deals would've come with a signature shoe.

Clark isn't the only WNBA player with hefty brand deals and signature shoes, either. Several other players, such as A'ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, and Breanna Stewart, have released signature shoes and even more interesting logos over the years.

Clark's on-court rival, Angel Reese, is also gearing up to release her signature sneaker, the "Angel Reese 1," in mid-September 2025. The NCAA national champion signed with Reebok in 2023.

Regarding her shoe, Reese expressed her excitement about the official launch, later explaining that it's "my stamp on the game."

"Reebok and I built something that's true to who I am, and I hope it pushed others to stand in their power, too," she said. "At the end of the day, it's built for basketball, made to move and perform at the highest level."
