With LGBTQ+ representation in movies becoming more popular, Snoop Dogg has shared his thoughts on the subject, sparking "homophobic" accusations.
The 53-year-old rap legend recently admitted to being put in a tight spot while watching “Lightyear” with his grandson, particularly during scenes featuring a lesbian couple raising a child.
The 2022 film became Disney's first animated feature to depict same-sex marriage, arousing considerable controversy at that time.
Snoop Dogg Criticizes LGBTQ Scenes In Disney’s ‘Lightyear’

During an appearance on the “It’s Giving” Podcast, the Death Row Records owner addressed the issue of his marriage and parenting.
Almost halfway through his conversation with host Sarah Fontenot, the Grammy-nominated artist condemned the presence of LGBTQ + in children's movies, recounting his experience with his grandson.
"They're putting it everywhere! My grandson, in the middle of the movie, is like, 'Papa Snoop, how [does] she have a baby with a woman?’” Snoop Dogg recalled.
The media personality continued expressing his discomfort, noting that he didn’t have answers to the questions the little boy asked.
“I'm like, scared to go to the movies. Y'all throwing me in the middle of sh*t that I don't have an answer for,” the “Let It Roll” hitmaker lamented.
Fans React To Snoop Dogg’s Statement, Labelling Him ‘Homophobic’
The “Sweat” rapper’s comments soon ignited allegations of him being discriminatory towards same-sex relationships. One netizen wrote, “Snoop Dogg being homophobic was not on my bingo card.”
A second netizen blasted the hip-hop icon, writing, “He literally performed at a Nazi rally, and now he's scared of two lesbians in a kids' movie lol.”
This observer suggested that the reason the songwriter was scared is “because confronting LGBTQ+ normalcy threatens his comfort zone.”
Another user wondered why Snoop Dogg seemed more concerned about gay characters on screen when the nation had other societal issues, such as “Vigorous gun violence and ICE deportations,” at hand.
Other social media enthusiasts referenced the music producer’s support for Donald Trump. A netizen commented, “Yet he's ok supporting a pedophile rapist who hates Black people, interesting!”

This is not the first time Snoop Dogg has been called out. Earlier in January, The Blast reported that the “Sensual Seduction” singer’s appearance at Trump’s Crypto Ball pre-inaugural bash in Washington, D.C. sparked backlash.
At the ball, Snoop Dogg performed his hit songs “ Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “Nuthin’ but a 'G' Thang,” despite previously vowing to “roast” those who performed at the inauguration ceremony.
Fans were left in shock seeing that Snoop Dogg went back on his words and graced the ceremony and spared no time in slamming the Primetime Emmy Award winner.
One fan remarked, "I say this with all disrespect, F-CK Snoop Dogg and honestly anyone agreeing to perform at this bull sh-t inauguration."
Snoop Dogg Replies To The Critics, Saying, ‘Get Your Life Right’

In response to the negative comments from fans, the “Soul Plane” actor defended his presence at the president’s bash. According to The Blast, the music mogul urged his audience to focus on their lives instead of scrutinizing him.
"Y'all can't hate me enough for me, I love too much. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine," Snoop Dogg said in his video addressing the backlash. He added that he was still the same before hitting back at the Black people who had criticized him.
However, it appeared that Snoop Dogg’s response only earned him more bashing as fans pointed out to him that their disapproval was not based on his race but on his moral choices.
The ‘Half Baked’ Actor Recently Lost His Close Companion

Meanwhile, the “Deep Cover” singer faced the heartbreaking death of his French bulldog, Juelz, in June. The “Riders on the Storm” rapper took to Instagram, announcing the demise of his pet, and penned a heartfelt tribute.
Juelz was a special gift from his close friend Wiz Khalifa for Snoop's 43rd birthday in 2014. Over the years, the two formed a deep bond, with the Frenchie quickly becoming a favorite among fans for his charm and presence.
Beyond Juelz, Snoop has also been a devoted owner of pit bulls Lil Snoop and Mamba, as well as Siamese cats named Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra.
