Kate Gosselin Opens Up About Life As A Nurse And Where Her Reality TV Money Went

Kate, who now works long shifts as a pediatric nurse, has been open about her current lifestyle.

Earlier this month, she revealed in a TikTok that she often works 12-hour days, sharing: "Today was a busy day, it was another 12-hour day. And so now I work again tomorrow morning, so I have my dishes loaded into the dishwasher … so I can go to bed and get up early and do it all over again."

While many praised her dedication, one follower asked what became of the money she earned from her time on the hit reality show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8." She didn't shy away from the question.

"Honestly? Providing for 8 kids, college funds which I am proud to say covered all of their college and more, and LAWYERS. Sickening, but I was drug into court constantly, and that costs A TON," she explained, per The Blast. "Sad bc my kids could have a lot more saved, and I could have a retirement saved if it weren't for lawyers. It's OK. I'm helping other families, and I feel needed, and I enjoy helping!"

Kate also recently responded to her son Collin's latest accusations that she played a role in dividing him from his siblings.

In a TikTok earlier this week titled "Kitchen talk and tips," she gave fans a glimpse into her post-work routine.

While chatting in the comments, Kate addressed a screenshot of Collin's post in which he suggested she was responsible for driving a wedge between him and his siblings.

"He knows why..," she wrote in reply, as reported by The Blast.

Some followers also used the moment to show support. One admitted, "Looking back now, I can see how you were portrayed as the villain and you weren't. I apologize for ever thinking that." Another added that while they once felt she was "too harsh," they've since come to see her as "intelligent, organized, and efficient."

Kate responded graciously, writing, "I was really trying to do my very best… just a bit overzealous at times. But only bc I cared SO SO much about my kids."

Kate's comments came just one day after Collin, now 20, shared an emotional TikTok post of his own.

On his TikTok, Collin uploaded a throwback photo featuring all eight Gosselin siblings: sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Leah, Joel, and Collin himself, alongside their older twin sisters Mady and Cara, now 24.

The image was set to Adele's 2007 hit "Hometown Glory" with the words: "Born to be a team, us against the world."

The following slide showed Collin wearing sunglasses in a car, paired with the text: "Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could've looked like."

He wrote in the caption: "Forced apart, pitted against each other. All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids? I will always love them more than anything. The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could've shared. I love you guys."
