Howard Stern is facing backlash over lewd comments he made to Sofia Vergara in an interview in 2003.

A clip from the interview has resurfaced on social media and has left many fans and critics "disgusted" by the behavior he displayed at the time, per The U.S. Sun.

In the resurfaced clip, Stern could be seen questioning Vergara intensely about her breasts, particularly how she breastfed her son Manolo when she was 19.

He made comments like "Did you breastfeed your son?" "You must've had so much milk, right?" and "How much milk, can you imagine?" At some point, he also attempted to tell her about the size of his genitals in Spanish.

On her part, Vergara showed she was seemingly uncomfortable and politely tried to indicate so in instances when she replied with "Oh my God!" and "No respect here!" to some of Stern's comments.

However, that didn't stop the shock jock from going further to proposition himself to the actress.

"If you don't want to go out with me, then at least let me feed from your chest," Stern said in the clip.

Meanwhile, others weren't convinced that the video had simply resurfaced on its own, insisting it was a publicity stunt by Stern.

"I'm not buying this. This "backlash" seems completely manufactured by his own PR crisis firm in an attempt to try and win back some old fans," one wrote.

A second user remarked, "This 'resurfacing' is a carefully placed PR tactic to sustain buzz around Howard in the lead-up to an eventual new contract. It's actually pretty transparent if you can look past the manufactured outrage and remember who Howard Stern was and how he originally built his brand."

Indeed, for weeks, there has been chatter about what's next for Stern's career as he approaches the end of his contract with SiriusXM.

Some sources have claimed that all the narrative around whether he will quit or sign a new deal is simply the perfect way to "make Stern relevant again."

"They're desperately trying to make this thing to go viral to try to boost his numbers for his return on September 2," said an insider, per the Daily Mail.

Will Howard Stern Sign A New Contract With SiriusXM?

With September 2 less than two weeks away, fans of Stern are highly anticipating what he has to say, especially after he teased on Instagram that he will address the career rumors at that time.

"Fired? Retiring? Canceled? Bye-Bye Booey? Howard Stern will speak. Tuesday, September 2. Only on @siriusxm," read a post on the official Instagram handle of his show.

According to an  insider, Stern will likely announce a new contract with SiriusXM, a move that would give his naysayers a "rude awakening."

Another source suggested that if the September 2 episode reveals Stern is quitting, it doesn't necessarily mean he would hang up his boots on working in the media.

"If Sirius doesn't sign him, he will have a backup plan, he is not going to allow anyone be the reason for the end of his career besides himself and what he wants to do," said the insider, per The Blast.
