Fans have been speculating for months that newly single Kim Kardashian is dating CNN contributor and lawyer, Van Jones. The two have been working closely together on prison reform even before the mom of four filed for divorce from husband Kanye West earlier this year. Kardashian has kept her mouth closed regarding the rumors but this week on the Keeping Up With Th Kardashians final season reunion, the reality star finally spoke up about her relationship with Jones.

“No, I’m not dating either one,” shared Kardashian also referring to her latest link to musician Maluma. “Not Van Jones. Not Maluma. I’ve seen [Maluma] a few times, always in Miami. Such a nice guy. So nice.” As for Jones, he is actually thanking the soon-to-be lawyer, it is giving him street cred of sorts. “Van texted me and was like, ‘This rumor has gotten me so many dates, so I owe you.’” The CNN correspondent has also been hounded about his special relationship with the media sensation.

“She’s doing amazing,” he told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on the popular daytime show. The host asked him in an indirect way about the time he is spending with Kardashian. “She has used her platform to help people behind bars. I think she’s going to be an unbelievable attorney and she’s already one of the best advocates that we have in criminal justice.” Such adoring words for just friends but the two are just not in it for a relationship they are completely focused on helping people who have been unfairly treated by the criminal justice system.

This does not mean that she doesn’t have dating on the brain. When asked by Andy Cohen if she would consider dating someone who was not famous, she replied swiftly. “Absolutely! Just someone who would understand what this life is about, though.” The SKIMS founder even hinted at a possible reason why her relationship with almost ex-hubby West had to end. “I think what I was looking for years ago is completely different than who I am today. I value privacy. I just want something that’s really real.”

As we all know, the former couple and their relationship are far from what anyone would call private. Kardashian and her family were on a reality show for over a decade of their lives, and while they grew to gain control over some of the things that aired, there was no hiding it from the paparazzi. And West, well he is an open book sometimes due to his struggles with mental health. Plus, he often flashes his wealth in real life and in his music. They do say girls mature faster than men.
