Ryan Reynolds Toasts Wrexham Fans With Gin, Rivals Flush It Down Toilets

Ryan Reynolds is raising a glass, literally, to Wrexham AFC’s epic rise.
The actor and Aviation American Gin co-owner just dropped a brand-new limited-edition bottle and commemorative pack to celebrate the club’s return to the Championship after its third consecutive promotion.
And in true Ryan Reynolds fashion, the launch came with a hilarious new ad that pokes fun at rival towns Charlton, Chester, and Stockport, where fans are seen flushing the gin down urinals and dumping bottles into rivers.
Ryan Reynolds Unveils Limited-Edition Aviation Gin Bottle To Celebrate Wrexham’s Historic Promotion

The Aviation x Wrexham commemorative pack features a 750mL bottle that reimagines the brand’s signature design with nods to the team’s heritage.
The custom packaging includes a patch-like crest label, a bold red strip honoring the legendary Turf Pub, and scale-print details inspired by the club’s promotion-winning jerseys. Each pack also comes with a Wrexham bottle scarf and a QR code that unlocks sweepstakes access and exclusive content.
“This release is a tribute to the grit, resilience, and heart that carried the club to the next level,” Aviation’s Global Brand Director Ricky Collett, said per a press release sent to The Blast. “Wrexham AFC has defied the odds and built a global fanbase through persistence, passion, and community. At Aviation, we know what it means to redefine expectations.”
Reynolds’ Hilarious New Ad
Of course, Ryan Reynolds couldn’t launch a new Aviation Gin bottle without a little trolling.
In the new spot, the actor proudly declares the gin is “flying off the shelves” in rival towns, though not for the reasons you’d think.
In Charlton, a local woman is seen knocking Aviation bottles straight to the floor and gleefully recording their demise. Over in Stockport, bartenders are caught pouring Aviation right down the urinals. And Chester’s fans? They don’t even bother hiding it. They’re dumping full cases of the gin straight into a river.
Signature Cocktails, Wrexham Style

To go with Ryan Reynolds' banter, Aviation rolled out four match-day ready cocktails so fans can toast the team’s Cinderella run in style, including the Negroni on the Turf. To make this specialty drink, you'll need:
- 0.75 oz Aviation American Gin
- 0.75 oz Bitter Aperitivo Liqueur
- 0.75 oz Sweet Vermouth
- Orange Twist
Combine into a mixing glass with ice. Stir, strain into a rocks glass over ice, and garnish with an orange twist.
Fans will also love the Up the Town Fizz:
- 1.5 oz Aviation American Gin
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- 1 oz Blood Orange Juice
- 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
- Top with Sparkling Soda
- Garnish: Blood Orange Wheel + Mint
Shake everything but the soda with ice, strain into a glass, top with sparkling soda, and garnish with a blood orange wheel and mint.
Aviation also shared recipes for Dirty Dragon and All Or Nothing Bloody Mary, which can be found on their official website.
Win The Ultimate Wrexham Experience

Alongside the launch, Aviation Gin is giving fans a chance to live out the ultimate Wrexham AFC experience.
One lucky winner (and a guest) will score round-trip flights to Wales, premium tickets to a home match, a private stadium tour, a visit to The Turf Pub, and local accommodations.
To enter the sweepstakes, visit Aviation's website and fill out the form.
Between Wrexham’s Hollywood owners, Cinderella-story promotions, and now a gin-fueled celebration, Reynolds has once again managed to turn a football club into a global pop culture phenomenon. And judging by the buzz around the bottles, and the gin already “flying off shelves," this might be the ultimate collector’s item for both football fans and gin lovers alike.
The commemorative pack officially dropped on August 19 and is available while supplies last nationwide, online, and at the Aviation Gin Distillery in Portland.
Ryan Reynolds’ Double Investment

Ryan Reynolds isn’t just the face of Aviation Gin, he’s got skin in the game.
The actor first invested in the brand back in 2018 and, even after selling a majority stake to Diageo in 2020, he retained an ownership interest. That same entrepreneurial spirit carried over to sports when Ryan Reynolds teamed up with "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Rob McElhenney to buy Wrexham AFC in 2020.
What started as a wild Hollywood-meets-Wales experiment has since turned into one of football’s most inspiring comeback stories. Under their leadership, the once-struggling club has skyrocketed to global fame, scoring back-to-back promotions and now securing a spot in England’s Championship division.
