On November 13, 2022, four Idaho students, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, were tragically murdered in their off-campus residences.

Two days after the incident, the perpetrator, Kohberger, attended a class at Washington State University, although reports revealed that he was late to class.

However, in the days that followed, Kohberger’s whereabouts were unaccounted for.

Recently, new documents unsealed by the Idaho State Police, Moscow State Police, and the Pullman Police Department revealed that he disappeared for a week and returned to school on November 29, after the Thanksgiving break.

According to the ISP, his classmates recalled seeing him with “bloody knuckles” and red patches on his face.

They went further into detail about the injuries, explaining that Kohberger reappeared with “bruised knuckles” and even a “cut on his ring finger.”

The injuries were so severe that many suspected he had been in a fight.

Reportedly, the concerned classmates didn’t stay silent about the sight and decided to ask questions.

However, the 30-year-old offered inconsistent answers. He told one classmate it was from boxing, and on another occasion, he claimed it was from an indoor accident.

Although the real causes of Bryan Kohberger’s injuries remain unknown, the police shared that it could have been from an altercation with one of the victims, Kernodle.

In the report, Sergeant Shaine Gunderson Kernodle was the only victim who wasn’t found in bed.

He described seeing blood patterns on the walls, even above her body, suggesting the level of violence involved.

The autopsy further revealed the extent of Kernodle’s struggle. According to the report, she sustained over 50 stab wounds, most believed to be defensive injuries as she fought back against her attacker.

The police revealed that the “intense struggle” could have resulted in Kohberger’s injuries.

Ultimately, Kernodle tragically passed away from a deep wound to her lung and two fatal injuries to her heart.

In more documents obtained by PEOPLE Magazine, it was revealed that Bryan Kohberger was anything but calm during his time at WSU.

According to the unsealed interview, the former criminology student even had a complaint filed against him by a colleague just a few days into the first semester of his PhD program in August 2022.

Over the next couple of weeks, Kohberger’s behavior would only get worse.

By the third month into his program, the convicted murderer had run-ins with more students and had 12 more complaints lodged against him.

One student even recalled Kohberger being known for “being a d-ck” at the time of the killings.

To top it off, he would allegedly make terrible comments to people, which were “homophobic, ableist, xenophobic, and misogynistic in nature.”

Now, Kohberger is serving multiple life sentences in jail for his crimes.

He received the verdict after signing a plea deal that guaranteed he wouldn’t receive the death penalty.

However, in irony, newly unsealed documents revealed that while studying criminology at WSU, he supported the death penalty, despite other classmates kicking against it.

Kohberger even had an exchange with a classmate where he asked her if she would have the same opinion if her “12-year-old daughter was raped and murdered.”

Ultimately, the woman revealed that Kohberger’s question and mannerisms made her feel like a target and took a heavy toll on her.
