Chris Pratt has garnered the ire of fans after publicly praising Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and wishing him success in his efforts to "Make America Healthy Again."

The actor, who has some family ties with the Kennedys, was slammed as "terrible" for supporting the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Pratt defended his stand, saying he "hates to be so mired in hatred for the president" that any noteworthy success the administration makes would be something he'd not be able to acknowledge.

Pratt joined Bill Maher for Monday's episode of his "Club Random" podcast, where he was full of praise for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The "Jurassic World" actor is a cousin-in-law of Robert Jr., as he's married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Maria Shriver and actor-turned politician Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Shriver is the daughter of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, one of John F. Kennedy's sisters, making her a niece of the former president and his siblings, including Robert Sr. and Ted Kennedy.

During his appearance on the show, Pratt called Robert Jr. "wonderful" as he opened up about the interactions he's had with him.

During his chat with Maher, Pratt clarified that their discussion was strictly centered around family and not focused on politics, but added that he does "wish him well" on tackling bipartisan issues.

"I hope there are certain things that he oversees that seem to be supported in a bipartisan way, like getting terrible, toxic stuff out of our kids' food. I think that's a great thing. And so, like, just – if you just do that, that's amazing," Pratt said.

"I'd hate to be so mired in hatred for the president that any success from his administration is something I'd have an allergic reaction to. To be like, 'Oh, well, if they do it, I don't want it to happen. I'll put Clorox in my children's cereal myself,'" the actor added.

RFK Jr. was sworn in as the Secretary of Health and Human Services on Feb.13, 2025, after being nominated by President Donald Trump.

Since taking the helm, he has implemented several policies, including the establishment of the "Make America Healthy Again" commission and the reestablishment of the Presidential Fitness Test for public school children.

However, some of his policies have divided citizens, especially after he canceled nearly half a billion dollars in grants and contracts intended to support mRNA vaccine development.

Elsewhere in his chat with Maher, Pratt, although he did not formally endorse Robert Jr.'s "Make America Healthy Again" commission, expressed his hope that it would succeed.

"You know, it's like, come on, be reasonable here. There's certain things that would be a good thing to have. I want them all to be successful," Pratt said.

The host also shared Pratt's sentiment, although he pointed out that he "may not agree with everything" the secretary stands for.

"I love him," Maher said. "I may not agree with everything. But I agree with the overall view that what makes us sick is the toxicity."

"When he was here, I said my advice to you is like you need to marry your former life more with what you're doing now. Your former life, you were very admired as an environmental lawyer," Pratt added.
