Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin is fighting Texas’ snowstorm with her massive thigh gap and in pink feathers. The 31-year-old former athlete and 2008 all-around champion, busy eyeing up the 12th annual Nastia Cup, today took a moment to both gear her 1 million Instagram followers up for the event and, since she lives in Dallas, reach out to the millions affected by plunging temperatures, snow, and no water. Nastia’s Thursday photos, stunning poolside ones, flaunted the figure, but the message was sweet. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photos. They come as Nastia largely jokes about being in Texas, where it’s usually a Hot Girl Summer deal 365 days a year. The five-time Olympic medalist, today stunning her fans with a jaw-dropping shoot as she posed in a strapless, all-feather top, satin pink pants, and a billowing open skirt, looked like a total goddess, but she was showing her kind heart. A caption reached out to all those in Texas, with the gymnast reminding her followers how they can help.
Nastia, tagging herself in Dallas, mentioned the “countdown” to the Nastia Cup continuing – yesterday’s one came with a braless cowgirl getup – but Liukin then directed her words towards the crisis.
“I also wanted to take this time to share ways we can all help my home state of Texas right now,” she wrote, adding: “I’m very fortunate to be safe and warm, but know so many Texans are suffering right now. below are some great organizations that I came across via @dallasites101.”
Closing with a list of places to donate, Nastia mentioned Asutin Street Center, currently offering clothing including hoodies and sweats, plus household items such as bedsheets.
Fans aren’t hitting “follow” for Nastia’s generosity, though. The Russian-born star has been knocking it out the park with her Olympian body, but don’t think she’s had it easy. While 2020 brought an anorexia storm, and the star clapping back, 2021 brought “gross skinny chicken legs comments.” See Nastia’s wild yoga stretch after the jump!
October 2020 marked a fan asking Liukin how she feels about “promoting borderline anorexia looking bodies.” A fierce selfie clap-back ensured, with Nastia writing:
“If taking pictures of my OWN body — a body that won me many Olympic medals, a body that I push each day to get stronger, a body that God gave me — is inherently promoting anorexia, then honestly, we’ve gotten to a place in the world where just BEING is offensive.”
