Singer Taylor Swift is facing backlash over her new album cover. To promote the Shiny Bug Vinyl Collection of her new album, the “Anti-Hero” singer posed in a curve-hugging bodysuit and tights that showed off her rear end. Although some of her fans, known as Swifties, loved her bold look, others criticized her as “desperate.” Her new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," is set to be released this October, and although fans haven't heard any new music just yet, it seems that she is still causing quite a bit of controversy with her new era.

Taylor Swift Called ‘Desperation Personified’ In New Album Artwork

More than a thousand users commented on a Daily Mailarticle discussing the singer’s new album. Some felt that her new “sexy” artwork was a way to keep her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, interested. “Desperation personified. Trying so hard to convince Travis not to go for a younger model,” one user wrote.

“Imagine being in a room with makeup/hairdressers, a lighting/photography specialist, a publicist, and some assistants - then being asked to turn your fanny this way and that. Sad, really,” another netizen commented.

Is Her Look Really That Sexy?

One user told her that she looked “as sexy as the flu,” while another netizen called her new image “unhealthy” and “disturbing.”

“She doesn’t look comfortable in any of those poses,” another user opined. “I understand she is reaching her 40s and likely wants to move on to being more than a teeny bopper artist, but don’t think jumping on the wear as few clothes as possible bandwagon is going to be a good route for her to go.”

Taylor Swift Is Called An ‘Unpopular Dork’

Another user poked fun at her image, writing, “She’s such a loser and a nerd. She’s the farthest thing from cool, sexy, or anything. She's an unpopular dork who got famous, that’s all.”

“Massive misstep. She's not cut out to be a pin-up, it's not her vibe,” another netizen wrote. “There are so many other women in music that does this kind of thing much better.”

Some have suggested that she is trying to compete with Sabrina Carpenter, who has become famous for the sexual Juno poses that she performed during her tour. Interestingly enough, Sabrina is actually featured on the title track.

Accused Of Letting Down Young Fans

Other former fans accused the pop star of selling out. “Ah, it was only a matter of time before she sold out, and let down all those young fans for whom she is/was a role model,” another user shared.

Another netizen was in agreement, writing, “Being a role model for young women and girls, which she has commercially based her following, comes with great responsibility. This photo shoot is a total letdown.”
