Actress, singer, and television personality Adrienne Bailon is feeling the wrath of social media users after recently admitting to praying for her husband after learning he had cheated on a partner in a past relationship.
Adrienne Bailon, most known for her time in "The Cheetah Girls," "The Real," and the girl group 3LW, married her husband, gospel singer Israel Houghton, in November 2016.

Bailon and Houghton joined forces on the latest episode of the "IRL" podcast to talk about their careers as musicians, as well as their lives as partners and parents to their son, Ever James.
During the episode, the pair also got extremely candid about some personal struggles they had to overcome before tying the knot.
According to Houghton, before marrying Bailon, he knew that he needed to come clean to her about his past infidelities, which ultimately resulted in him fathering two children out of his marriage.
He shared on the podcast that he believed once people found out the truth about his past, his world would be over, considering he's the lead singer of one of the most popular gospel bands known to man, "Israel & New Breed."
Houghton went on to say that he believed his "identity" was attached to people assuming he was a true follower of Christ. "And what I shared with her was embarrassing and painful and all that. And I expected her to go, ‘See all guys are the same,'" Houghton said about his conversation with his wife.
Bailon, however, had a completely different reaction that has left some online users shocked.
Adrienne Bailon Opens Up About Praying For Husband After He Came Forward About Cheating Past

As the episode went on, Houghton said that Bailon reached across the table to grab his hand and began praying for him, asking God to help him realize that he was more than his past.
“That’s how I know moments like that are God, because that’s not my natural instinct. My natural instinct is not to be like, ‘Let me pray for you,’” Bailon told the "IRL" podcast host.
Bailon then opened up about her biggest fear in relationships: being cheated on.
For those unfamiliar, Bailon was previously in a highly publicized relationship with Rob Kardashian. However, things ended after the latter stepped out on her.
According to Bailon, infidelity in a previous relationship normally would mean "game over" for her. Something about Houghton, however, kept the "No More" singer around.
“So to really believe that and know that I’ve preached that on ‘The Real’ and to be that person and then marry someone who has been that didn’t make sense to me at all in my logical mind. But in that moment, I don’t know. That’s how I know it was God," she said.
Social Media Reacts To Adrienne Bailon's Comments About God In Her Relationship

After a clip of Bailon's statements went viral on the social media platform Reddit, the "Real" talk show host started facing a wave of backlash for promoting what some see as unhealthy relationship practices.
"Ooooh, she thinks it's different with her because God or whatever," one user wrote. "It's one thing to cheat — it's another to have not one, but TWO kids with your mistress."
Another user wrote, "May this kind of love never find me."
"He's gross, but I will never understand why people marry serial cheaters," a third user wrote.
Users Blast Bailon For Trying To 'Fix' Men

A fourth user also jumped into the conversation and said that Bailon has a problem with trying to "fix men."
They added, "She's been trying ... since Rob Kardashian."
"One day she'll find out she's not that special when he cheats on her, too. Choices, girl," another commenter shared.
"Being a Christian sure gets you out of responsibility for sh-tty behavior," someone else wrote.
Bailon Faced Backlash When She First Started Dating Houghton

Prior to Bailon and Houghton's appearance on the "IRL" podcast, the couple had been facing backlash for some time.
During a previous episode of "The Real," Bailon addressed her relationship with Houghton and discussed the rumors that suggested he was still married when they began dating. Bailon explained that, despite the headlines suggesting something different, Houghton was not married and there was simply an oversight with his legal paperwork.
"The crazy thing is him and his ex-wife actually filed under their initials and not under their names, so when [publications] and a lot of these other news outlets went to go look for divorce documents, they couldn't find them because they were under their initials for their privacy. Ha-ha! But, it was true," she said.
