Sharon Stone is pulling back the curtain on a devastating family secret, revealing that she, her sister, and even her late mother were victims of abuse at the hands of her grandfather.
The shocking disclosure comes just a year after Hollywood icon Sharon Stone admitted she nearly went broke when roles dried up following her stroke.
Sharon Stone Opens Up About Family Abuse Trauma

In a candid moment while discussing her new film "Nobody 2," the actress spoke about the legacy of abuse passed down by her maternal grandfather, a man she described as violent and predatory.
She first shared these experiences in her memoir "The Beauty of Living Twice," and is now revisiting them in an interview with The Guardian, shedding light once again on the trauma that shaped her life.
Stone explained that her mother was beaten from early childhood until she was old enough to leave home for work at just nine years old. "There hadn't been a day in my mother's life when Dot had not been beaten by him," Stone said.
The abuse did not stop there. Stone revealed that both she and her sister were also subjected to their grandfather's actions when they were young.
Still, Stone made it clear her family story was not only about pain. RadarOnline notes that she also recalled her deep connection with her father, Joseph, describing their relationship as inseparable.
"My dad and I were tighter than two coats of paint," she said, crediting him with helping her find her way in a male-dominated world.

Stone did not only speak about family. She also brought up the health crisis that nearly ended her life. In 2001, she suffered a severe stroke that left her fighting to survive.
Although she barely pulled through, Stone says the career roadblocks were almost as tough. Hollywood, she recalled, was not welcoming, especially to women who faced health challenges. "In those days, as a woman, if something happened to you, you were done," she said.
Despite the obstacles, Stone has kept moving forward, working to rebuild her place in the industry. She insists her outlook remains positive, stating, "I'm a glass-half-full kind of gal."

Stone has never shied away from talking about the stroke that nearly killed her in 2001. Last year, she revealed that the aftermath went far beyond her health, as she almost lost everything.
The Blast noted how Stone shared that she was left struggling financially in the years that followed. On top of that, the mother-of-three says she was swindled out of nearly $18 million, along with her belongings and properties.
Despite the setbacks, Stone said she chose not to live in anger. Part of that shift meant redefining what mattered most. Stone turned her focus to family, adopting her three sons, Roan, Laird, and Quinn, and putting motherhood ahead of her career.
"I'm grateful that I chose motherhood as a healthy approach to my life and that I didn't prioritize Hollywood, because they certainly didn't prioritize me," she stated.
Stone Says Iconic 'Basic Instinct' Scene Made Her Famous, But Not Respected

After surviving her stroke, Stone's career was far less steady than many would imagine. And while her performance in the hit movie cemented her as an icon, she is making it clear that the film gave her fame, not respect.
The Blast highlighted that while the now-infamous leg-crossing moment remains one of the most talked-about movie scenes of the '90s, she could have had it cut from the final version.
"It made me an icon, but it didn't bring me respect," she said. Looking back, Stone admitted that no one involved realized how controversial the shot would become. Director Paul Verhoeven kept it in, and she ultimately chose not to fight it.
"I didn't make him take it out when I had the legal right to," she explained. "Once I had the chance to step back, I understood, as the director, not the girl in the film, that that made the movie better."
Sharon Stone Shared How The Scene Came To Be

While revisiting one of the most controversial moments of her career, the star revealed she was asked to take off her underwear on set, being told the white fabric was reflecting too much light on camera. The 67-year-old said she was assured nothing would be visible and agreed to the request.
Only later did she realize just how revealing the final cut would be. Still, Stone decided to leave the scene in, saying it felt right for both the film and her character. "It was correct for the film and the character, and because, after all, I did it," she noted in her memoir.
By revisiting her past, Sharon Stone is showing that she is not afraid to share the truth with the world.
